Haven't been a big fan of all his fights but his body of work and longevity of his career is mindblowing

His fight earlier today he took a horrendous ass whooping. I dont know who his opponent was but apparently he's highly touted

And to see Tavares prideful and mad at the stoppage makes me feel good. I am proud as hell of Tavares and that was a great fight. Brad came back and almost had a route to victory until he found the way to replay the first round in the third

I cant recall too many of Brad's fights. Im sorry but for one theres been a lot of ufc concent since he started and fights sort of blend in for me. That is rude as hell to say also. He showed me a badass though and he's tougher and better than I can remember

Hes been around forever. He's an interesting case.

It's insane that he's had 27 UFC fights and has not once recieved a performance bonus. You're not wrong to not remember many of his fights. He's made a career out of being card filler or cannon fodder.
He also managed to finish only 2 out of 16 fights he won, that's a worse stat than Merab or Tecia.

Another thing about Tavares is that he never really developed as a fighter. He started his UFC career as a pillow-fisted point striker with good enough defensive wrestling and that's basically who he is now. 10 years ago this skillset and style allowed him to be close to top 15, but the game evolved and now even guys like Bryczek or Bruno Silva are knocking him out.

He just seems sharp enough to stick around

And that's a huge diss. I've come to appreciate the likes or Arlovslkis and Guidas even though they ceased to entertain in some recent fights

And what I remember about Brad is his fights with Lil Nog and McGee. Which also feels mean. Amongst a career of great wins and a few ufc finishes

But on a bloodthirsty card in France he was in a brave brawl

Dudes one of the most boring fighters to watch with pillow fists and no submission threat I don't see his value at all. 2 finishes in 15 years with the company is pathetic.
The only time he's in exciting fights is when he's getting his ass handed to him.

Exactly…TS real last name must be “Tavares”

Robert is one of the few guys to lose to Ihor Potieria, he's not highly touted at all truth be told. Fight just showed how washed up Brad is, and that he should hang them up.

Dude is kind of Don Flamenco level gatekeeper.

It's not the most exclusive gate, not the gate to the top 5, more of the gate to the middle ish of the division.

Lots of guys have passed that test and gone on to good things.

One of the only 2 finishes he ever got was against Jotko, another deicisionator. I bet a lot of people lost money that night haha

I don't follow his career but two finishes this whole time..... Yeesh.

Brad is a beast. Not everyone can be a name, but we need guys like him to stack the rank and file. Having someone like Brad around helps define careers as he's typically someone you need to beat on the way up or down. The fact that he's on so many resumes gives us context to the period. If we stacked the UFC with contender series washouts we are going to end up looking at fighters a few years down the line with random names and one or two standouts. The magnys and Tavares types maintain the overall level of the UFC. If you cant outwork them you don't belong.
