"I'm retired. F**k interviews"

Erratic behavior is really all I can say.....

He's going the Mayweather route. Get enough people to hate you and be rich beyond your wildest dreams.

All I can say is props and good luck to him

lol Mayweather has made more money in one round of his last fight than Conor has made in his career.

He was salty about losing a fight, so he gets an immediate rematch...as the main event on the most prestigious MMA card of all time...with a fight that makes zero sense...in a weight class with no relevance....getting paid arguably the biggest purse in MMA history....

...and he retires randomly without saying why?

Man, we can do without this guy with this sort of sporadic decision making. McGregor is the one who looks the most pathetic here if his retirement hissy-fit is over pay. I don't believe it had anything to do with a media obligations as the guy loves being in front of the camera and he's never had a problem with promo stuff before.

If his retirement was over something substantial with his UFC negotiating, you'd think he - of all people - would be vocal about it. He's either so inflated with his own sense of wealth that he is basically holding the UFC for ransom to get a ridiculous pay day, or he's taken the defeat harder than we thought and is too mentally broken to risk another loss.

Either way, it's disappointing, but being at the pinnacle of the sport isn't for everyone. Look what it did to GSP - the guy was getting so stressed out about his high-profile fights that he swore he was talking to aliens.

You can't ask Conor about fighting anymore.

Conor, his team, and his family may be at peace with his decision, but can they handle the shit storm that's to come?

First off, let's assume Conor could give a shit what everyone else in the world outside Dublin thinks (doubtful since we've seen he absorbs everything other fighters say about him online). I would say that even after his loss, he was still considered in that region as a champion, the fighting pride of Ireland. I'm sure for the most part people still loved him, respected him, and treated him like the celebrity he rightfully was.

But now there's likely to be a shit storm of negative fanfare from his closest and most dedicated supporters when he returns from training. He let down a lot of people who ever paid good money to come see his fights and/or drew inspiration from him (like this guy). He may have just went from being one of the most popular athletes in Ireland, to the most ridiculed (no matter how personally justified his rea$on was).

If he's not going to keep training full time, what else could he possibly do while keeping out of the public eye and criticisms? Go back to running boxing classes at SBG?

This is really bizarre and hard to explain. Could be even something like having a life threats or mafia thing with him or some of his teammates involved.
