A good cure might be to get a new dog
My old dog died a few years back and I was in the dumps for a while. I didn't want another dog so fast but my mother got a rescue dog and forced it on me like 2 months layer. It was the best thing that could've happened at the time.

Sorry to hear that. Imo its perfectly understandable the fact that you still havent visited his grave.
Like others suggested get a new one, i know it doesnt substitute Simba but it would help distract your mind and ease the pain.

I wasn't trying to be harsh by saying go visit your dog. It just sounds like it was a good boy and he deserves to be visited even if it is tough to do. By the sounds of it you'd probably have run in front of a truck to save him so I think you can convince yourself to go see the little guy.

A sweet little puppy came up on my porch a little while ago. He was literally trying to come in the house. Part of me was hoping he had been abandoned, and I could adopt him. But it ended up being the neighbors new puppy. Sad thing is it will probably be dead in a few months. People out here don’t watch their dogs for shit. Coyotes, bobcats, or some other creature will likely eat him. They’ve been through 3 or 4 dogs this year, it’s only March.

I'm sorry to hear that. Yes, our animals are like family and we miss them like family. If you miss him it means you took good care of him, so he lived a good life and was happy. He is in doggie heaven now with all the other dogs that have passed away. Unlike humans, animals are born free of sin from the time they are born to the time they die.

I've lost 2 dogs and didnt like the idea of burying them in the ground so i cremated them and have their ashes. I told my girl if i go before her cremate me and spread my ashes with the dogs lol

I always get a new one within a month. Good companions and they keep you fit cause you got to walk them twice a day.

Agreed. I hate to feel like i’m just replacing one of my pets like they’re luggage. But at the same time, I figure why let an animal sit in the pound suffering when I am perfectly ready to adopt it? There are tons of animals out there that need homes.
