I've been looking at going overseas for a second degree because tuition and living expenses are a fraction of what they are here. I could get an entire 4 year degree for $10k with like <$10k/ year living expenses. What's your opinion on Indian colleges outside of the crazy stupid smart IIT range?

Tricky question. There are some really good colleges here but they are expensive. Especially for foreign citizens.

Case in point, my niece's lived all her life here but she's a us citizen. She's doing her MBBS now, final year. She had to pay 100k. An Indian citizen pays 400 bucks a year. This is all in dollars btw. The Indian's gotta pass an entrance exam though. That exam is tough as fk.
Same with the IITs and IIMs.

There are two Indian School of Business. Private. I think an MBA is about 50k. But it's elite n high brow as fk.

It all depends. What's your citizenship and what degree you looking at ?
10k a year in living expenses sounds about right. Maybe a lil more if it's in Delhi or Bombay.

Also, if you're black, it ain't worth it. I'm sorry to say. They'll treat you like shit. Lot of Nigerians here and a few of them sell dope / run scams.
The common masses here then paint everyone with the same brush and think every black guy's selling drugs. Doesn't matter if you're American. They'll think you're Nigerian.
Fkn mobs will occasionally grab any black ppl they see when somebody ODs. It's been happening and getting printed in the newspapers recently quite a bit.

I eat garlic and onion every day. I don't really buy the defense of "it's their diet". It's not their diet, it's poor hygiene. Indians fucking stink and it's likely because it's a third world country and they have poor hygiene there and when they come to a modern society, they bring their third world life styles, attitudes, lack of self awareness and poor hygiene with them.

There's lots of other people that stink too. No one looks at the fat slob gamer at work and says "Oh, Jimmy smells because it's his diet". No, we say he stinks 'cause he's a fucking slob. Stop trying to shrug off a nation wide practice of poor hygiene as something that is out of their control. It's 100% within their control, just like it is for everyone else.

We've all encountered assimilated Indians who function well in society and guess what, they don't stink. Why doesn't their diet affect their body odor? Because they clean themselves and have better hygiene.

I'd like to take the time to read this whole topic tomorrow and possibly comment and discuss the absolutely pathetic work ethic Indians have, from my experience at least. I've been struggling with ever growing disdain towards Indians because of my daily dealings with them at work and my patience with the collective stereotype is pretty much at zero now. I find them insufferable. I find the overwhelming reinforcement of your typical Indian stereotypes to be extremely offensive. I'm not sure how collectively such a large group of people could be so lacking of self awareness. It makes me angry, but it also makes me sad.

The 1st time I lost my shit at work was because of an Indian colleague. His incompetence was entertaining until I was forced to work with him. We had a big argument & he's trying to force something which is clearly wrong. I had to send an email to all that I refuse to work with him because he is dumb. Ironically, the owner of the company is Indian & is very vocal about his reluctance to hire fob indians, since most of them fake their qualifications. He had to terminate of couple of them & one of them is leaving this week. Never mind the hygiene/stink/diet discussion, the stereotype here is that they talk big but always fail to deliver. We're making english materials & their english, relative to their position in the company, is abysmal.
 
I like our Indian intern. He comes an hour late & took a leave last week because of hangover. Boss.

I agree with a lot of this. Especially about that work ethic....or its non existence.

I would like to say that generally, it's the one's who's lives are shit / poor / no better prospects that immigrate. They're looking to improve.
90% of the immigrants you see are actually from the villages / small towns. Even those engineering / computer graduates.
Their hygiene standards n social graces leave much to be desired. Even here. Ppl from the cities, the upper class I mentioned, find those immigrated abroad even for many years, speak a much rougher and more hardcore dialect. More orthodox and fundamentalist in their behaviour. The parents, not so much the 2 n 3 generation, except the language.
More uncouth, so to say.

They've also spent 30 years of their lives just studying. For many it's their first job. Do you remember his you were at hour first job ? Now imagine if your first job was as a computer programmer.

But there's a lot of really hardworking immigrants to. Ppl who just break their backs working. If you haven't met them, that's on you.

So judging 1.3 billion ppl because you've met 10-15 and heard some half assed stories is pretty silly.
Imagine if it was reversed. The American rednecks / hillbillies get tired of no job opportunities and start immigrating. Would it be fair to say all Americans talk funny, have bad dental health and fk their sisters ?

That western custom of working in McDonald's when you're 16 is a great one. Teaches you a lot.
But over here, anybody getting a job before they're 27 is considered a loser. And poor.
But now you got kfc, McDonald's, bk etc etc. So it's slowly happening. It's only the lower classes yet but its changing.
