It was a great, close fight and had the decision gone to Silva, it would be hard to complain, BUT, i'm glad that he lost for two reasons:

1 - Silva threw the knee as Bisping was looking away, trying to get Herb to stop the fight to get his mouthpiece
get put back in. I know that it is his right to keep fighting if the ref doesn't tell him to stop, but seriously—it is
not normal for a fighter to look away like that and it was scummy and unethical for Anderson to have thrown
the knee at that exact moment, knowing that Michael was defenseless as he stopped fighting.

2 - His continued clowning and walking around with his hands down. This is what caused him to lose the first
Weidman fight, so he obviously hasn't learned anything from that defeat. If he wants to get knocked out, that
is his business, but even if an opponent is too slow to take advantage of the low hands, it is very rude to
behave in such a fashion.

Little different. Weidman has power in his hands, Bisping doesn't.

Yes, Anderson was rocked once or twice as I recall but Anderson showed no respect to Bisping's lack of power.

I'm sure it'd be different if he was fighting someone like Yoel or Rockhold.

No it wouldn't, Anderson does it against everybody. It's just his thing. And Rockhold has less power in his hands than Bisping, Bisping dropped Anderson and hurt him multiple times. Still, in PRIDE rules, that was about as dominant of a UD for Anderson as it gets. His fault for giving this one away, but man he fucked Bisping up. That 5th round was beautiful to watch.

He can keep his hands low if he wants. Has nothing to do with the judges scoring.

I wouldn't say he does that against everybody, just guys he doesn't think has KO power. He's beaten Vitor and Hendo, maybe still could beat them, but he'd never drop his hands in front of guys with that kind of power. He's smarter than that.

I'm aware of that. I'm just saying that the low hands have no value to the fight, other than taunting his proponent, which is rude and disrespectful.

So smashing the fuck out of your opponent's face isn't rude or disrespectful?

These guys fight in a fucking cage for a living. They don't have to be polite or respectful...They are there to destroy and mangle with no regard to the wellbeing of the other person locked in the cage with them.

I feel bad saying I actually agree with all of this

*Unethical?? Where is this book of mma ethics people are referencing and where do i buy it?

Protect yourself of all times. No one gets dropped in a fight thinks, " Time for a comeback. Oh wait, he's not paying attention. Better give this guy a second so all is fair." Bisping brought that knee on himself.

Silva absolutely threw the fight away. I can't say I'm happy to see any fighter choose to lose rather than go for the finish against a rocked opponent. If Silva bothered to press Bisping, like he had, he would have won. Can't say I'm satisfied for Bisping for this as well. He fought hard and earned the win. No one can deny that. However, the few times Silva actually remembered this was a fight he lit Bisping up. I can't help but feel the better fighter lost.

Agree, FK was a bitch move. Vintage silva.

Funny watching silva get hit with so many bitchy knee kicks and get mad about them. Likes to dish them but hates to get them.

"Protect yourself at all times"

It was wrong for Bisping to try to stop the fight. Good fight anyways. I wanted Silva to win and thought he did enough to win but oh well. I won't lose any sleep.

Hitting someone during a fight is a bitch move? I had no idea... Thanks for the information

omg that just made me want to watch Silva vs Yoel sooooo bad

How the hell can anyone fault Silva for that knee? You protect yourself at all times and fighters aren't referees who get to call a timeout when it's convenient. Bisping was trying to game the system when he was being pressured.

I agree Bisping did enough to get the decision, but that whole fight is a perfect example on why the 10pt must scoring system is retarded to begin with for MMA.
