You'd be surprised how many have little to no idea. Not the casino's fault, they are as you say transparent.

To be fair, I don't think the majority of gamblers do so to make money but because it's fun, another form of entertainment and the money they lose to the casino is just the equivalent of the ticket price to see a film.

I like to bet, but I hate losing. I've taken breaks from losing two weekends in a row - and my losses are never that significant. Basically, the thrill of winning for me doesn't really outweigh the feelings from losing. I think I'd walk away if I saw I wasn't making any money or losing money for a couple months. I'd still be way ahead though.
