Throwback Illia topuria killing people

Bro if you want to Fight in WW and want to fight Belal, you're not ducking Topuria. You're trying to level up and increase your competition.
Islam hasn't gave up his title and moved to WW. He's the reigning LW champ. But yeah I fully support Islams quest for WW Gold.

tbh im kinda afraid that Islam well get a one sided ass whooping like all of Topuria's past opponents. Topuria has that Khabib Aura where he dominates everything and everyone while Islam had a couple of wars and tough hard fought victories and a nasty KO

I expect Islam to win. I think Topuria has a solid chance though. 5 rounds to land a KO punch as long as his sub defense holds well enough. That's a problem though with Islam. I don't like how Bryce was able to take and hold Ilia down and made Ilia wait until the round ended to get back to the feet.

If you cant tell how vastly superior Ilia is to fucking Cody Garbrandt you're dumb as rocks and should stick to watching NBA or something.

This dude just picked a fighter that had hype to Ilia because they look similar LMAO. Cody has ZERO fighting IQ, he was dumb as rocks and got by thru pure athleticism. Ilia is an assassin with elite hands and fight IQ.
Cody was better than he gets credit for. You don't do what he did to Cruz if you're not. He just fell off hard when his chin got cracked and he knew he couldn't rely on it anymore.

Ilia is a very good counter striker with big power and solid grappling. He's very good at making adjustments and finding his shot, but his fight IQ is nothing special. GSP had elite fight IQ. Ilia is just content to eat some shots and lose rounds because he believes his moment is coming.

In four or five years, he's going to be another guy that can't pull the trigger anymore because his reflexes are shot.

Fair enough.

By that same logic, Arman, Charles or Gaethjes auras have already faded due to their losses. Two of them he's already beaten, last one has been strangled twice in title fights.

I can understand it, but I can't agree with it since it's an emotional argument that doesn't make sense logically if you consider all factors. That's why I'm wasting my time poking holes in it.

But this is the point, it's essentially the consequences of what will happen if they will get their way.

Islam will then get an easier title defense against someone he has either already beaten or someone who shouldn't be in the title picture and has already been finished twice in title fights and is very much a dream stylistic matchup for him.

I will end this discussion by pointing out yet again the hypocrisy of team Islam and how his stance on the Ilia fight directly contradicts his previous quotes about;
Not wanting rematches.
A gladiator doesn't choose his opponent.
Belt means he's the best, will fight anyone the ufc puts up against him that can make 155.

Hopefully, UFC put their foot down and perhaps increased his salary and guaranteed him the WW-shot to make him take the fight or vacate.
I still don’t think you totally get my point around the problem with Islam only defending against FWs, regardless of the diminished aura of Gaethje, Arman, Oliveira they are all legit LWs so those wins won’t have an asterix next to them. Islam having a majority of his title defenses against smaller guys is objectively a bad look and will age horribly and will be an asterix on his resume. And this isn’t a hypothetical scenario, I’ve already seen this happen by credible commentators when they discuss Islam’s place in the LW goat ranking. The number of times he’s fought FWs is already having a serious impact on his resume and legacy. So far you’ve responded many times but I haven’t seen you come up with an adequate response to this concern, because you don’t have one. And no it’s not hypocritical for Islam to say he’d fight anyone but decline to fight ilia. It’s a reasonable to infer that when he said he’d fight anyone, he meant credible contenders within his own weight class or higher. It’s unreasonable to think he’d be ok continuing to fight smaller guys indefinitely when he’s already done it twice. Anyway, I don’t think we’ll ever agree on this but I’m fully on board with Khabib/islam on this, I think they make a lot of sense and are being smart. More to the point, I think given what Islam has done in the sport he’s clearly earned some deference and his concerns should be respected. Ilia has not put in the work that Islam has, his desires or concerns should not be prioritized over islams.

I find it weird how big of a hard on you guys have for Ilia

I can never forget him getting rocked with the knee and getting taken down by Bryce Mitchell lol... the kid is far from unbeatable

No wonder hes risking it all by trying to speed run UFC and retire before he turns 30

Lolwut? He was outlanded by Max, Volk, strike count was pretty even with Bryce Mitchell and he was taken down and controlled for several minutes, he got dropped by fucking Jay Hubert. The only fight that seemed one sided was Emmett, the rest have been back and forth until he lands a big punch.

He throws everything with full power, so it's certainly possible to land a big shot on anybody, but it's more likely he gets pieced up and ragdolled looking for 1 big shot to bail him out, and we still don't even know if his punching power carries over to LW, or if it's like Conor's "death touch" and "nobody can take that left hand shot" that didn't seem to do shit against bigger opponents.

Said it a million times.

There are weight classes for a reason.

Its going to be a whole new world at LW.

Trolls used to be clever
You jump on every hype train champion. Sorry but I'm not sold on Topuria yet. This is what you said about Cody Garbrandt just before he got exposed:
I would say this as well, I think Cody is the best boxer I've seen that I can think of.

Better go hurry up and delete your post and claim fake news. That's exactly what I'd expect from you.

Wow you did your homework dude. Anyway I probably posted that after the Cruz fight, I was very impressed by that performance by him, proved to be a flash in the pan of course. Wish I had your insight, I could have made bank on betting against him after that!

I've lost plenty of money betting against TJ Dillashaw and Tyrone Woodley in the past. So I'm wrong a lot too.

If Topuria can impressively beat Oliveira or Arman Tsarukyan, then I'll admit you're right. I just see him being over-hyped for his accomplishments, and he's moving into the most stacked division in MMA (with larger fighters). Seems like he's primed for a reality check. Quote me! I'll apologize later if I'm wrong.

Illia is not ducking anyone. He is the best well rounded fighter in the UFC right now. What he has done is a absolutely crazy

Illia looks good on the ground as well perhaps unstoppable. Islam doesn't want that thunder and may choose to fight what's his name:)
