Media Ilia and the UFC avoiding Arman might come back to haunt them

People will underestimate Justin because h's old and had staph against Paddy, who he still floored half a dozen times, outwrestled and humiliated even though Justin was the betting underdog.

Ilia should win on paper because he's faster and more technical but pretty much any fight with Justin is 50/50.

We're going to find out if his chin can handle GaethBomb and if his boxing heavy style won't be suceptible to head kicks.

Topuria is fast, technical and devastating but he leaves his chin wide open and when Wittman and Justin gameplan for a big fight they will be using his more versatile striking as an advantage. It only takes one.

I do not like or agree with the narrative that Arman was “skipped.” He head-butted someone last November at a weigh-in. Even in a sport where people punch each other in the face for a living, that was extremely unprofessional and most of us would have been fired for something like that. Not giving him an immediate title shot after that seems justified.

Yup. I like Arman and I think he should be getting his title shot.

But I also can't deny that the UFC have a right to demand reliable, active champions that aren't going to ruin main events. They can't be giving title shots to guys like Arman that might ruin another event, or even someone like Mosvar Evloev that is happy to fight once every ~ 8-14 months. Just look at Khamzat. Everyone said Khamzat would win the title and proceed to sit out, and that's exactly what happened. I think they are already regretting their decision to give Khamzat his title shot, and that's before he pulls out of another event in the future (which seems inevitable).

It is a little coincidental that Ilia announced he had to take time away, the UFC booked Paddy and Justin and then the minute that fight is done Ilia has settled his Legal issues and his hurt feelings and he is back and ready. All while avoiding Arman. Justin and Paddy could simply have been a fight but they made it an "Interim" so they can justify that fight and another fight to Unify while leaving Arman on the sidelines. It certainly feels coordinated to anyone with their eyes open and a tiny bit of critical thinking.
