You're conflating "Democrat" with the left. Democrats aren't leftists. You'd be hard pressed to call them "liberals" at all, to the point that I refuse to call myself liberal out of fear of association. I said it in another thread, and I'll repeat it here: America doesn't have "two parties". We have Republicans and Diet Republicans. The relatively small handful of actual leftist politicians have to play nice with Diet Republicans to maintain positive relationships that they hope to leverage into future change.

Do I wish Ilhan came out and unabashedly denounced Biden? Of course I do. She didn't support him until everyone else dropped out, but now she has to play politics.
