Igor Vovchanchyn vs Dan Henderson

Hendo in his ''prime'' was a decision machine.

It's when he became too old and had a bad back that he became dangerous with the H-Bomb.

Would take Igor here.

Yeah... I kind of agree...

Hend-dong (remember that... Hend-dong.. when there was that pic of Dan in shorts with a fold by his junk that made it kinda look like he was packing a 3-pack of tennis balls.?? Haha.. oh, good ol sherdog..) anyway...

Hendo had shown glimpses of his folklore type power... But was still somewhat athletic and mobile enough, that (for Hendo) he used his boxing to set-up his wrasslin... He didn’t sit on his punches and look for the KO like he did once he transformed into “Shuffle Shuffle H-Bomb”...

I will say though... Dans power may be the greatest single equalizer in the history of mma..

Plus his adamantium chin... it was the perfect cocktail... How many foughts did he end up winning that perhaps he would have lost if he didn’t have that fabled power right??

Wand II?

Shogun I & II

Bisping II (even though he “lost”... He battered MB)

Lombard ?

Fedor?

Feijao?

Babalu?

Hell... Even Tim Boetsch ?? Well... Tim did come charging head first into Dans right hand.. but still..

Sure... He could have beaten this guys other ways.. But at this point of his career.. it was starting to appear that if he didn’t KO the guy he was losing decision or getting stopped himself.. Meaning... He was basically head hunting and only used other means if forced to.. if that makes sense...

Was pondering the same thing this evening. Hendo and Big Nog were probably the only people from that era who could take Igor’s monster shots.

Loved Igor, but nostalgia and all sees him overrated by us old school fans, tbh.

You can’t argue with facts, and Hendo has a far better record and has beaten far better fighters than Igor.
