If you were John Kavanagh how would you prepare Conor?

Would you work more BJJ? Would you try and pack on more mass to KO Diaz? what would your strategy be in the rematch?

He's not going to be able to hang with Diaz on the mat unless he literally spends every second of training camp training BJJ, I'd work some S&C and practice more of those heel stomps to the knee to try & slow Diaz down.

I'd force him to have the fight at 155 and focus on setting up his punches with loads of low kicks. Of course Conor seems to be his own worst enemy these days.

I would send him to Duane Ludwig so he could learn how to strike from a real man

Leg Kick, Cardio, choke defense.

Keep Conor away from coke and hookers.

Pray the Irish Jesus.

He has a brown belt in BJJ so I assume he has something if it goes down? He just shouldn't shoot for a takedown.

Call em an idiot for taking the fight.

Make him fight non manlets for once in his life in sparring... Bring in great boxers and kickboxers.

Wouldn't be enough
.he would lose.

Tell em to not use Ido Portal.

Lol Conor is never going to be able to hang with Diaz on the mat. Just like he will never be able to wrestle with Mendes, etc.

Nate has been a Gracie black belt for over 10 years now iirc. Conor can't catch up to that.

What Conor needs to do is throw a lot more combinations. He can't KO Nate with single shots.

Prohibit sex until the fight is done....

On a serious note, add more unpredictability in his approach this time, more leg kicks, more body shots and pacing himself (like the Siver fight)

I would say against a taller opponent your kicks should out-number your punches because they cover more distance and have more power than your hands. Especially against an opponent that has only been ko'ed by head kick. Torso and head kicks, skip the leg kicks. Mix in the left hand and straights to the body. Keep the left, but forget about ko hunting. IMO Most likely he won't have to focus on the ground game because Nate will not worry about taking him down. The Diaz brothers prefer to stand and don't even rush a takedown when they get bruised on the feet. People say he needs to tighten up on his BJJ, but he is the one that took the fight to the ground.

His best bet is to try to chop Nate down with leg kicks. Lots and lots of leg kicks. There is no amount of BJJ that Conor can do before July that would enable him to hang with Nathan on the mat.

Offensively you're right but if he put everything into working his BJJ then he'd be able stall and maybe pull of a Schaub shutdown.

Tdd, lots of leg kicks . Picking his shots better and his boxing defence.
