The future of shopping will involve way fewer brick and mortar stores.

I went to check out around 8 stores and the prices were 4x online and most of the time the selection was lacking. Why buy in stores when I can order online and get whichever I want and way cheaper?

The only thing stores are good for is a close up detailed inspection of the goods.

I'd guess stores would adapt to become mail order pickup centers considering so many people steal packages freshly delivered by UPS/FedEx/USPS.

Malls would become empty and it's the real estate owners' own fault for being so greedy with charging high rent where stores cannot compete on price.
