After Whittaker, there aren't people out there that could threaten him or he hasn't already KOed. Yoel is a terrible fight for Gastelum, so the chances are Yoel beats Gastelum and we have now 1 title defense. Then we will get another defense, but I don't see Whittaker making it a trilogy that soon, so Yoel faces any one else in MW and he wins because noone else can threaten him.

If he does this, he cleaned out the best MW division there ever was.
 
Could happen, but I think Whittaker gets another defense.

Dude is 40+… but looks young and ripped like Sage. Could be champion for 5 more years. Wouldn't mind him trying out the UFC 205 division... that stuff is weak.
 
Robert would get another shot with only one win. His second fefense would come against Reaper.

I think Whittaker wins again, but if not I think time is certainly on his side for a trilogy bout.

If Yoel smashes Whittaker, I don't think anyone else can beat the soldier of God. I would consider Yoel the best MW, over Anderson.
 
No MW will compare to the MW when Weidman was champ/when SF and UFC merged.

Prime versions of Weidman + Rockhold + Kennedy + Jacare + Mousasi + Machida + Romero + Kennedy + Bisping + Lombard + Sonnen + Henderson + Vitor + Anderson. Insane.

For a brief time period it could have been said to be the deepest division. Since then it has dried up (age/Mousasi getting booted) and only gotten one promising new prospect to replace all those declining/retired greats, who just so happens to be a WW. Whittaker was an awesome surprise that most (myself included) didn't see coming but one guy doesn't make a division of course (as seen during its weaker era when Anderson ruled it).
 
Would be a terrible travesty if Yoel never wins an MMA belt.

He's legit the best fighter ever to not hold a high level (UFC, PRIDE, Strikeforce, Bellator, One FC, WSOF, Cage Warriors) or even local scene belt.

but no one was even close to clearing that, and here we have someone who fought some of the best people while they weren't that deflated or on big losing streaks.

Yea but Whittaker is a BIG BOY. I dont know how he even makes weight. I hope Yoel gets it.
 
If he beat Whittaker then I can see him beating gastelum and the rest of the division comfortably
 
You’d have to huff a lot of gasoline before you’d be stupid enough to call Whittaker average after beating Romero twice.
