Does Robbie get an immediate rematch ?? This would probably the worst case scenario for Wonderboy. Depending on the fight I would have to think he would get one if only for the fact that he makes a much more exciting champion than Woodley. What do you guys think ?

I hope they give it to Wonderboy and I think they will. there's nothing else to do with him anymore.

That will be pretty anti-climatic since Lawler vs. Wonderboy is a much better storyline.

Silly speculation. The fight hasn't happened. Worse case for Wonderboy is a man named Demian Maia beating Carlos Condit in impressive fashion.

There Is a time honored tradition observed in the sacred rites of what we know as the welterweight division. If you beat Carlos Condit, you get a title shot. Just ask Hendricks and Woodley. If you beat him up and make him run the whole fight ala Nick Diaz but lose to the judges, you still get a title shot. The important thing to remember is:
Beating Condit= Title shot.

If Condit loses to Maia, he'll leapfrog Maia and Wonderboy somehow and fight Woodley for the belt.

Potential rematch would depend on the nature of Woodley's victory.

Woodley wins with ease. With the new USDA testing. I see all belts being pass along like potato. Woodley wins this fight by KO in round 2.

Tyrone? Thread title is racist.

I would think Thompson probably would get the shot if not Robbie. But he's been a just bleed champion, so I would imagine he'd likely get the rematch unless he loses a boring fight and/or gets shutdown.
One question mark, though, is what the approach of the new ownership will be to the matches.

Reasonable.

The thing about Demian Maia fights that has always impressed me is the long lines at the bathroom and at the concession counter.

If Woodley wins, we all lose.

lol at "if" Woodley wins

First thing he has to do is figure out how to make down payments on his soul, he wouldn't like purgatory

it just feels we are entering boring land with boring champions
so look for the upset.

Lets be honest the 200 main card sucked

Wonderboy should get next regardless of what happens. Sick of instant rematches.

Not unless there's controversy.

Not giving champs even a long time one like Aldo instant rematches seems to be the trend lately. Thank you Jeebus.

I hope not. Automatic rematches are bullshit. Fighters should have to work their way back up after a loss.

It's better for everyone if they don't get an immediate rematch. If the loser loses again, he has nowhere else to go except maybe bellator or a different weight class. If the loser wins the re-match, everyone will be crying for a rubber match, and the whole division gets put on pause for a year.

Wonderboy gets next dibs no matter what happens I imagine.

Whoever wins, wins. That's how it works in a legitimate sports league. Fuck all your bullshit 'marketability' and story line nonsense. What is this, a fucking soap opera?

T-Wood holds out for a year for an easy defense.
