If someone dies in the Octagon

The fact it hasn't happened in the UFC yet shows
how low percentage the potential it is for it to occur

People have died on football fields (nfl) boxing rings, nascar racing crashes, why would in the octagon be any different

It’s always been something I wondered about. If I continue to follow this sport for 10,20...30 years, will we witness the first death in a UFC octagon? Statistically, it should happen eventually.

I remember thinking Shane Carwin might've killed Mir when they fought.

Would it change things for the public eye, or maybe for fans? I am not sure if it's me, but since covid I see lots of very bad match ups. Bad as in, fights with a huge skill gap. Imo this increases chances of a lethal injury. How do you all see this? Is it a matter of time before someone dies in the Octagon, and what effects will it potentially have?
Its sad but things like this happens in every sport .. for example something similiar happend in my country - 1990 Ice hockey game which was streamed to whole country

aftermath? drastic change of ICING rules (thats how european icing was made)

So in my opinion if something like this will happen they will try to improve rules to protect fighters

I think it would actually get more people watching. We are all degenerates at heart.

Pretty much nailed it. The only thing I will say that’s different these days is social media. And I think it would depend on how the person died. If it’s a Dada situation it might not have much blow back. It still will, but if the death is from trauma sustained from a beating it’s going to be hard to overcome. And let’s face it, Dana doesn’t really try to make friends with the people that will plaster the images all over every type of medium. That’s the one thing that all those other sports don’t really have. It would be an interesting situation. One I hope never comes to fruition.

Sweep them up and bring on the next fight. What WWF did woth Owen

He OD'd right after a ufc fight. If you don't think that loss had anything to do with that you're a fuckin idiot
Slow down colby

Unfortunately it's likely to happen some day

Deaths happen in many professions in transportation, construction.... As long as there was no gross negligence on the promotion part, nothing will happen to the UFC.

They got rules, ref and doctors

Many of us work in places where you are fucked if you hurt yourself badly
