If someone dies in the Octagon

This is why we have PED testing and no foot stomps or soccer kicks.

I remember the dark days of John McCain getting the sport banned from PPV and don't want to go back.

Still doesn't eliminate much of the risk, boxing has had many deaths only with punches.

Would it change things for the public eye, or maybe for fans? I am not sure if it's me, but since covid I see lots of very bad match ups. Bad as in, fights with a huge skill gap. Imo this increases chances of a lethal injury. How do you all see this? Is it a matter of time before someone dies in the Octagon, and what effects will it potentially have?
I don't know if you've ever seen a Bellator event. The gaps that company has and there hasn't been a death? I think the UFC is safe.

Yeah, I don't mean UFC, but mma in general. That MVP knee for instance literally broke a dude's skull. If he followed up with a few strikes, it could have killed his opponent

I don't think it would get banned. If anything there's never been a death in a major promotion thus far so it shows that it's not the savage bloodsport detractors would maybe believe. Has boxing taking huge hits from the deaths they've had?

Joao Carvalho died in Bellator.

RIP

We have already seen deaths in the octagon.

If somebody dies in the octagon, they’ll label it “death by covid” and then throw it in that fraudulent number of covid deaths.

Then CNN will report that covid is racist because the fighter was black.
Then they’ll blame it on Trump.

Ken did beat Tito into a living death. It's why Tito's corpus is intact but also why he can't pronounce the world 'solemnly' immediately after hearing someone else say it.

It happens in other sports that don't involve punching, kicking, and slamming people on the head. Unfortunately it's just a matter of time, don't think it will change anything though.

What about the guy in Ireland that died recently? MMA was effected massively over there from it I think.

No I don't think so. Matchmaking is usually pretty good in modern MMA and there is much less repeated damage than in boxing.

You want to see mismatches and guys collecting concussions repeatedly with no option to win? Go watch boxing. That sport can be more ruthless than MMA IMO.
