Shogun was coming back from knee surgery and was still only 27 in that Coleman fight. Fedor looked old and just a shell of his former self dude.

no im referring to the bum fight shot shogun and coleman had in UFC 93. coleman looked sooooo old and shogun gassed the way i'd gas in a pro fight. he was suppose to walk right through him but it turned into a 3 round bum fight.

you guys aren't look at this reasonably. fedor got caught by a big hook because he didn't respect maldanado and didn't want to dishonor russia by shooting for takedowns lol.

iirc Dana gave that fight against Coleman FOTN? He did make a meal of it, but I don't think it's a valid comparison. Say what you like about Shogun, but the thing that never failed him was his chin, and that it Fedor's problem now and something that you cannot fix. Yeah he got caught coming in, and that happens, but against Maldanado that kind of thing shouldn't be happening.

Thats what I was thinking. A couple of UFC Shogun fights were OK but nowhere near what he was in his prime. I really do believe he aged too quickly from those wars.

He doesn't hit that hard, (not that I would like him hitting me), but he's more of a volume puncher. Certainly he hits no where anywhere near guys Fedor would be fighting at HW like JDS, Overeem and such. I mean, a clean shot from one of those guys and I can't see him being able to take it.

I'm a Bisping fan, so I would be the last guy to totally write off someones chances of an unexpectd career resurgence entirely. I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't be selfishly excited to see him fight at least once in the UFC, but if I was advising him in his best interests I'd tell him it is definitely time to call it a day.
