If sambo were easy it would be called bjj

Because most of them don’t train any striking and don’t bragg that they would win under sambo rules or claim other silly bs.

Which sambo practitioners are claiming they would win under BJJ rules?

This still happened

D 1 Wanker is pathetic.

Have you heard of Jonathan Jones?

I wouldn’t describe Jon’s approach as wrestling focussed. Even if you want to count him that’s just 1 champion

Striking seems to be the best base for MMA

The comparison of BJJ and Sambo per se was more than stupid and I wonder why Kabeb would ever say something like that!? Like, its not even comparing apples and oranges, its even way worse and every casual, or Shermano, comparing those two would be totally torn in pieces if he would try to find a comparison.

One is a pure grappling based sport with no punches and kicks while the other one could be seen as a not that far away version of amateur MMA with Punches, Kicks and submission. I struggle to find an equally stupid comparison to show how stupid it was, not even "if Boxing was easy it would be called Kickboxing" can be used as example because they at least have in common that they are both pure stand up disciplines.

We're not discussing approach, we're discussing their base

That's probably precisely what Naruse thought right before getting the CTE.

Interestingly, the entry is surprisingly legit. He starts like he is closing in for a bodylock but grabs the opponents wrist with his right arm and feeds it to his left hand behind the opponents back. Then he pulls the right arm out and starts framing the neck to create the distance to guillotine the opponent, who only has his right arm left to try fighting the choking hand. In that process Volk Han grabs that wrist as well and there you have the pretzel of pain.
