I think its a disgrace that they pitted him against wonderboy to try and have the upper hand in negotiations if he loses. We could lose wonderboy as a contender or lose rory to another org. Horrible time for this match up, it should have been made a couple fights down the line.

I agree with everything except one point. WB shouldn't be protected from tough matchups just so they can get him to a title fight. In a deep division one victory over hendricks shouldn't have gotten him a title shot anyway. He should have to beat at least 1 more top 5 guy before he got a shot. They gave him Rory, for obvious reasons to do with Rory's contract. So be it. He beats Rory, he gets a shot. He doesn't then I dont think he deserves to jump the line.

That said, i wish they'd given him Woodley, so he could knock that guy out. then get his shot. That would be win/win.

Wonderboy's chin is questionable. He leaves his hands down often and has been dropped by thompson. Certain refs would have stopped it, it was Chad Mendes-Frankie Edgar like.

Rory/Wonderboy is the worst possible match they could have made with a guy who just lost to the champion, and a guy who should be fighting the champion.

Why eliminate a spectacular challenger who will put on exactly the kind of fight Dana and the UFC loves to see?

And if Rory wins, do they give him a title shot against Lawler again? Like Lawler needs to rematch everyone he fucking fights? Hendricks, Condit, Rory... All were good fights but how many times does the champ need to beat all these guys?

To have a fresh contender in Thompson and throw him against a guy who just lost to the champ is horrid match making.

I'm still pissed Lawler/Wonderboy isn't happening at 200. It made so much sense and would be insanely exciting.

As for Rory, he's been speaking out recently and seems unhappy and if he loses, he's fucked.

Wonderboy gave matt brown a good fight so he is tough. He beat whittaker, ellenberger and hendricks, it's a tough fight for both.
