I include Schultz because he slapped/injured that reporter and was known for being a bit of psycho. But I don't know the backstories on those guys too well. I watched it as a kid and have seen some interviews from wrestlers from that era. Of course, their stories conflict sometimes. I know Haku and Rick Rude were supposedly tough guys who allegedly did well in scraps outside the ring. Hearing that about Rude kind of surprised me, as he seemed more like a pretty boy in love with his abs than a brawler, but apparently he was tough.Bruiser Brody wouldnt have done a damn thing and David Schultz wouldnt have cared, I wouldnt include those two in this list
The 80s guys were obviously tougher than the modern crop (who the fuck goes into pro wrestling nowadays?) and wouldnt have let him off the hook for that. But still, a lot of the tough guy image comes from anecdotal sensationalized BS. The Haku stuff especially drives me crazy, I wish he had gone into one of the early UFCs so we didnt have to endure all the hyperbole surrounding him.
- Why are you doing thatr to me? And The Road Warriors? Magun TI?A lot of the guys from the 80's gained their aura from bullshit stories passed on. A wrestler beating up a drunk local yokel redneck in a bar would through stories turn into him beating up 4 rednecks in a bar at once and then it would pass on again and again and would turn into him beating up 8 rednecks, 4 police, 2 dogs and getting chased out of town by a local militia.
I'm sure they were tough and getting in a fight with those roided out, coked up 80's wrestlers wasn't fun, but I don't think a psycho MMA trained guy like Raja Jackson would've had an issue making it out.
True story. He spared me to pass on the story.True story. My mate's uncle's ex girlfriend was working in a bar one night. Haku was just sat in the corner with an orange juice reading his bible, when for no reason 6 huge marines started throwing racial slurs toward him. He was a great guy, with a calm soul, so he was prepared to let it go, however they all pulled out crowbars and hammers and decided to attack him. Within 90 seconds 2 had had eyes bitten out, 2 were knocked unconcious and 1 had his scrotum ripped clean off. 1 was spared.
This assumes that the guys back then were all good guys that loved each other and simultaneously ignores all the backstabbing, bullying and enviousness that was going around for decades in a toxic backstage environment. What would've happened if some combination of Haku, Bruiser Brody, David Schultz, Rick Rude and Paul Orndorff came in to pull Raja off instead of those small-time, independent circuit guys?
True story. He spared me to pass on the story.
I'm talking multiple guys, though...not a one-on-one fight. Raja isn't that big and he's not Bruce Lee in a movie taking out multiple 300+ pound steroid freaks.A lot of the guys from the 80's gained their aura from bullshit stories passed on. True, though it may be different if an outsider came in and tried to kill one of them. Remember how both Schultz and Hogan injured reporters and got sued just because someone questioned whether wrasslin' was fake. This assumes that the guys back then were all good guys that loved each other and simultaneously ignores all the backstabbing, bullying and enviousness that was going around for decades in a toxic backstage environment.
Jacques Rougeau punched the daylights out of Dynamite Kid, without any of Dynamite's so-called buddies interfering. And there's plenty of those type of stories.
I can't imagine this even happening in WWE, regardless which decade. To be honest, I think that Raja despite how dumb he is, knew exactly where he was. He sensed that it the perfect possibility to do it.True, though it may be different if an outsider came in and tried to kill one of them. Multiple guys at this indie show were able to hold Raja back. You were asking "what would've happened" and I'm saying nothing would've happened, because the stories about most of these guys are bullshit. They would've pulled him off and held him back like the indie guys did? They wouldn't have tried to shoot on him in the ring, because most of them probably knew he would've fucked them up lol. Those guys had to protect that "aura" they had of being legitimate, if they got beat up by an outsider in front of a crowd, those carnie territory promoters would've quit booking them.

Only thing that woulda happened in the territories is Bill Watts woulda fired Syko Stu's ass right there on the spot for getting mollywhopped

Bill Watts probably would've started booking Raja Jackson for beating his ass![]()
