If North Korea & China declared war on the US

US nuclear stockpile is more than 10X that of China + N. Korea.

They have enough nukes to take out N. America but the US has enough nukes to depopulate Earth.

There's also another technology that factors in like the things needed to actually launch and guide WMDs and anti-WMD systems.

There's no proof that China has the capability to actually reach many places on the world and bypass American anti-WMD systems and there's no proof that American anti-WMD systems actually work.

A lot of what we think we understand about these kind of things is government propaganda.

Would this automatically become a nuclear war?

It could be contained to regional conflicts and proxy wars, in which case China and N. Korea should be able to have the upper hand if the areas of combat were specifically centered in areas like S. Korea, Southeast Asia, etc.

Japan and US would probably come out on top in naval battles though.

Kind of a silly idea either way.

India & Pakistan are two nuclearly-armed neighbors with an incredible hostility towards each other and have been able to avoid direct military confrontation for as long as both were able to stockpile WMDs- although there have been several non-direct state army confrontations though.

So Japan is our Allie if something did occur? I don't really follow politics at all and have no idea what's going on but heard Trump going to NK could be a start of a war

Yeah, a bit of a silly idea.
But I don't think China would come out on top I don't know what site Pakistan would fall. But India, Phillipeans, Japan, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapour almost all ASEAN countries would be on the US site or the Anit Chinese site. Those countries would swing the manpower factor heavily into the US sites favor.

Yes, Japan has a special military pact with the US, as well as S. Korea.

They're very reluctant to engage in any kind of military conflict these days though.

Japan is probably the most pacifist major country in the world today.

Considering the USA likely does pretty well vs the entire world combined, selecting just 2 of any of the remainder countries of the world puts this firmly in the hands of Captain Obvious.

The Philippines under the Duterte administration will be in China's side so you might actually be drafted by your country and get to shoot me if that ever happens.

Imagine that!

Both lose. China worse though.

Trade war is the one to worry about.

If Russia got involved winning would be determined by estimating whose country would be become habitable again first.

Asean nations will act as bases again, except for Myanmar. India would be hesitant to throw its support to contain China, as Pakistan looms.

Mutually assured destruction.

the most prosperous countries are not going to war with one another.

its not. going. to happen.

How bad of a shape would we be in?

'Murica by Arm Bar.

It will never happen, of course. Not even Best Korea is stupid enough to throw hands with the Undisputed Heavyweight Champ. And even if they were, China would tell them, "You're on your own, lads. Best of luck - you'll fucking need it".

There is no way for China and NK to project power apart from in their own backyard. The US Navy would besmirch the PLA Navy in open battle, and the USAF would do the same in the air. On the ground, China and Best Korea would have the numbers and home field advantage, but once the US Army got sufficient boots on the ground, superior training and equipment would take a massive toll.

And all of this is leaving out the reason full scale war between super powers is not an option: Nukes. It's all fun and games until cites are turned into glass car-parks and the few surviving humans are more radioactive than one of Putin's enemies.

America has a bigger airforce sitting in a bone yard in Tuscon Arizona than NK has operational.
