If Nate wins.. He is the new Nick.

Nate for years needed to put on some muscle and increase his strength. He did it. Nick has had an awesome career, but he hasn't been the killer he used to be over his last few fights. He isn't willing to take one or two to give two or three like he did before. Still, Nick is a great fighter. (Nick is a star?)

If Nate wins, he is no longer the 'little brother.' He is Nick's level, and fixing to possibly even take a step ahead in the future.. Possibly. Winning this fight makes Nate the new Nick. Nick can come back and be the old him, but should Nate win, you really would have to start indicating who you were talking about when you say "Diaz."

Also, it may not be fair to say "Nate will be the new Nick," but I think you can say Nate will be "Diaz" as much as Nick. And that is something.

I think this sums it up perfect..

But I think if Nate wins he definitely is on that track. But Nick has held a belt and defended it. Plus he has fought legends (BJ, GSP, Anderson) and was really only 'outclassed' once if you count being held down in a way that isnt even really allowed anymore.

Nate needs to either get the belt or go on another 5 or 6 fight win streak against top guys to get to Nicks level

Funny thing is, Nate has way better wins already than Nick. And their losses are pretty comparable as well, mostly just lost decisions to top rank guys.

You could make a really good argument that Nate has already had a better career than Nick.
