If MVP started MMA earlier

The problem with Page is that he spent the best years of his career in Bellator, fighting guys who, for the most part, were hand-picked to provide him with highlight-reel KOs…

BUT, he did have solid wins against Lima and Daley, who were both high caliber fighters, so I think he would’ve had success in the UFC…
 
MVP is legit. i really do not think there is a man who can beat him standing in the UFC 170 or 185. In a pure stand up MMA fight where no fighters use grappling MVP beats everyone. his striking style is truly special, though not always fun to watch
 
Islam vs MVP would be wild to see. The height and reach difference would be crazy.

Only Mike Perry was able to beat him in a striking match.

Similar to Anderson Silva probably before aging and losing to a wrestler.

Definitely true, but I think he had that down pretty young

He could certainly be better suited for MMA had he trained differently

But that could be said of almost everyone

Was the win against Lima solid? I thought it was pretty widely agreed to be an out and out robbery

He started MMA plenty early enough, but for the longest time he seemed to prefer steamrolling relative cans. Eventually, MVP decided to establish himself as a serious fighter. Either he could have just stuck with his Can Crusher image, or he could have insisted on tougher competition all along.

He didn't come to MMA late, he started a more serious kind of MMA late.
 
Good fighter, but he better stay busy as he is now 38 and he depends on hand/foot speed and timing. Things tend to go south around this time.

Wonderboy's record from 38 and on? One win and five losses.

So he is a good kickboxer you say? I guess if he played it right he could have been Alex before Alex got lined up with a bunch of lesser kickboxers in MMA. I just have to wonder why people don't watch kickboxing?
