Talk is that Mighty Mouse's next fight/title defese maybe against Henry Cejudo for their rematch. Really? Johnson keeps talking about he wants big money fights and to be on a stacked card that makes him money. That's reasonable, but he's got to fight an opponent that is intriguing and a rematch with Cejudo certainly isn't. TJ has already said he is willing to fight Demetrious. MM vs. TJ is the big money fight he wants. Does MM want to keep fighting nobodies or does he want to get paid?

Dana should tell Mighty Mouse that if he won't fight TJ than he will never be on a PPV again and will always be the co-main event.

If MM wants to get paid the big bucks he needs to fight the big fights. Yes they are riskier but that's why people pay to see it. First off many people don't like the lower weight classes anyway and MM continually crushing cans or people that aren't ready for a title shot doesn't hype people up and make them buy tickets.

There isn't any excuse for not fighting TJ if TJ goes down to 125.

I'd like MM vs TJ and a Benavidez vs Cejudo rematch

This is what separates MM from the greatest , his refusal to challenge himself , he's cleaned out his fairly shallow division if he won't fight TJ and hea happy rematching for the rest of his life then so be it .

TJ made 125lb?? Isnt he the BW champion?? Has everyone just giving up on BW now and rather the champion drops weight classea instead of defending his belt where he has 0 title defenses so far??

How about the guy holding the BW belt defending it ?

Yeah, I know...The concept is too crazy to grasp, right ?

TJ is a...

Honestly I don’t think MM cares that much about the money or the legacy or the personal challenge, I think he just looks at this as a job, a 9-5, and recognizes that with him not making big pay days he is still making way more than he would at any other job and still having a great time doing it. I think he wants to ride this train as long as possible. It’s not good for the fans that he sees it that way, but hey, that’s his choice and his life.

MM was down to fight TJ. Dana called it off because he was pissed that Dillashaw wouldn't rematch Garbrandt at UFC 222 on short notice.

MM knows UFC is in a pickle and he has the mouse meat to finish the sandwich.

Had the Cruz-Rivera fight happened, I would feel that TJ needs to defend first (though he is not really a new champion, having regained a belt he defended multiple times and perhaps should never have lost in the first place.) I cannot say I feel TJ is ducking anyone, that guy earns his place.

MM fights in a division he knows is painfully shallow. Normal athletes cannot make that weight, and his diminutive but strong-yet-mobile frame gives the win at the weigh-ins. The weight class should not, in my opinion, exist. It is too esoteric and far-removed from normal human bodyweight, no differently than super-heavyweight.

DJ is already on free cards all the time. That has actually become his role in the company, and it is more important to the UFC than people think. I bet they are content with him crushing weak competition for their cable audience, and I bet DJ is ok with keeping the gravy train going. He is not making crazy money but it is still stable. Everyone will say they want this or that, but it's largely lip service, as often the case with super fights.

Most of DJs fights belong on fs1 tbh. I feel the same about Montano/Shevy

It's a pretty shitty time to be a BW fighter on the roster apparently.

The fucking champ just gets the belt back and not a fucking peep about potentially defending it against anyone not named Cruz or Garbrandt and even then a defense seems unlikely.

Flyweight may not draw for shit, but t there always seems to be a challenger lined up whereas i'm not even sure BW has more than three fighters there.

I heard they were looking at getting it on the DC vs Stipe card , what happened to that?

This. And that goes for him moving to 135. All the other “goats” have at least attempted this, after achieving titles at their natural weight. If he doesn’t even fight him at 125, then he’s just a bum.
