"if Lewis wants to stand, I'll allow it"- Blaydes

Blaydes wouldn’t be able to hold him down even if he wanted to...

Lewis is deceptively slick off of his back...
Blaydes is an actual wrestler unlike Roy Nelson. Smaller wrestlers like Latifi have managed to take and keep Lewis down.

I mean, Curtis finished JDS on the feet while Derrick got stopped himself, so it ain't like he can't win there.

It's giving BB a better chance of winning, but it'll also let Blaydes manage his gas tank better than having to constantly take Derrick down.

perhaps. i could definitely be overlooking him, but beast for sure got the power to put him out if they stand.
For sure. Anybody on earth.

Don’t think blaydes will mess around too much on the feet despite this thread title. If he does he deserves to lose. expect an early shot and for blaydes to dominate the fight everywhere as soon as Lewis slows down

yep, im expecting the same from blaydes.. but i do want and think beast can get the ko.

No way blades stands with him for any extended period by choice. Lewis has shown the ability to get up pretty easily in generally, he literally just stands up and they can't hold him.

I think Lewis takes this fight pretty convincingly, but it definitely good matchmaking.

He's not going to have much of a choice but to keep it standing. His cardio won't hold up trying to wrestle for 5 rounds. He can get 1 or 2 takedowns a round to try to win the round but Lewis will just get up.

I like BB just as much as the next guy, but if ur all thinking he wins easily one the feet then ur in for a rude awakening IMO.

Blaydes has long ass arms and pretty damn good power, he has a mean straight. I think Blaydes can win this on the feet and the ground ( especially the ground, obviously )

When's the last time BB faced a wrestler this good? Curtis is very hard to get up from.

It seems Blaydes went home and practiced some boxin'

Lol, surely he has someone in his corner to let him know how it is gonna go if he stands.

But in hw mma, if Blaydes ducks under one Lewis punches and shorten the distance and conects few hooks, its lights out for Lewis as well.

Imagine he do this if he fights Jones in the future
Jones would just point fight him while circling and brutalizing his legs. He would likely only opt to take him down if hurt or to steal rounds (last minute takedowns on close rounds). BB would fade dramatically as the rounds went on it’s a super tough matchup for BB given jones chin and octagon awareness and footwork. Obviously BB can KO anything living with the right opportunity but but it’s exponentially More difficult against a high iQ fighter like Jones.

its not just that he can hit and is huge. He is dangerous the entire fight, even when he is tired. He is hard to hold down, and can explode to his feet inexplicably. He can turn up the violence at any point during the match,so long as he can get to his feet. Dangerous and unpredictable
yes, thats the Black Beast

The Cormier fight, I think. Black Beast is very good at finding the right time to get up, using basic technique and strength. Strong hips and good frames. Very useful for a HW fighter when there’s rarely a lot of scrambling and chain wrestling.

The problem is that Blaydes is very good at taking people down and he’ll probably not fully focus on keeping Lewis down. I think he’ll stay on him like glue, take him down, rinse and repeat. That saps endurance like a bitch and will open door for the gnp.

Lewis is so slow and out of shape all he has is power. What has the HW division come to?
Oh look another PRIDE nostalgia cry boy. PRIDE is dead get over it.

Lewis is a finisher. Be grateful.
