And goes on to get some more title defenses...
Does that go towards his record of consecutive title defenses? Or would it just be re-labled to "consecutive title fight wins" or some shit.. Anderson Silva currently holds the record at 10 title defenses in a row but seeing as Cormier snagged up the belt in Jon's absence and won some himself -seems that Jon will be fucked over for a potential new record ?
So technically speaking, if you factor in the Hamill bs loss Jon would have been 22-0 overall and 16-0 in the ufc and upon beating Cormier would have been 23-0 and 17-0 in the ufc, setting the new record for wins and being tied for the title defenses record - both of which he is now shit out of luck for. But, much like Fedor's loss early in his career that nobody took seriously I guess unofficially Jon would be the record holder anyways in the minds of mma fans?
Sort of interesting the think about. If he goes on to beat Cormier and get more defenses he would have set many records and be undefeated officially if not for the actions of himself. It seems that the only man that knows how to beat Jones is HIMSELF.
HIMSELF, who threw illegal elbows on Matt Hamill.
HIMSELF, who got into the multitude of legal problems, forcing the ufc to strip him of his belt.
HIMSELF. His one true adversary. Hopefully he will get his shit together now when he sees Anderson Silvas name on those records even though he unofficially surpassed him.
