I think he can become the most marketable HW in history. With the moniker of "having the hardest human punch in the world". The nickname The Predator couldnt be more fitting. He is getting good with his english and having very little to say besides "you will go to sleep" is very Ivan Drago like.

I am wondering if Francis goes on a tear as champion can you can see him venturing outside MMA like Ronda did with movies, or like Conor did with boxing?

I dont necessarily see Anthony Joshua vs Ngannou happening but I wouldnt be surprised down the road since Dana wants to get into boxing.

Ngannou boxing is pretty bad....

Power doesn't mean good hands ...

If he wins in devastating fashion, he could potentially be on the cusp of becoming the UFCs next superstar.

More marketable than Brock Lesnar? I don't think so.

And the "hardest human punch in the world" moniker is complete bullshit.

The UFC set up a punch measuring machine and he had the hardest punch of all those who were measured. Well who else was measured? All they've said is Tyrone Spong, a 215lb kickboxer. Hitting harder than Tyrone Spong doesn't make you the world's hardest puncher.

How devastating? You mean like against Overeem, lifting him off the ground? Or just any 1st round TKO/KO. Just wondering.

You might not see it, but Ngannou's coaches do — and they're thinking for this year. I wouldn't be so sure that Francis would even stay around long enough in MMA to go on a tear as champion.

I think he def would be. You can tell on these forums people are ready to get behind him, casuals would fall in line cuz huge KOs and big scary look. Honestly i think stipe will win but if he gets koed by ngannou the sky is the limit.

Im not sold on him being, or having, mega star potential. Most stars have countries behind them (GSP, Conor, Andy, etc) and others have their American marketability (Ronda), but Ngannou has poor English and comes from a nation where most people don't have TVs, nm being able to buy a PPV or shell out the $$$ to make Francis a star. It's possible that he could be seen as this indestructible Tyson esque cyborg human, but he lacks the out of ring charisma that past superstars have had (Mayweather, Tyson, Conor, etc).

I think these coming PPV #'s will tell us a lot about how he will do in the future.

yeah, just don't invite the other HWs to try the punching machine.
right now he overtook conors record

Yet he's been able to counter against two of the best boxers in HW history.

It's not like he's landing some hail Mary punch. Those were clean counter shots that he set up.

Disagree. He has good hands. But good hands doesn't mean good boxing like some people here say he has.

Anyways, I wonder if the UFC will let Deontay Wilder try out their little test machine? Let's see how Francis' punch REALLY stacks up. lmao

Ngannou would be perfect to play the role of The Predator or a Terminator villain.

Youre right but I also think its true people like to boost up success stories and if Francis wins and defends, he could fit that role pretty quickly.

Do you know what is meant by 129,161 units? I seen some fighters on sports science measuring punch power but it was measured in pounds of force. So it is confusing...

Joey Diaz calls him Magomba. I to, will refer to him as Francis Magomba.

More than Brock yes, eventually if he sticks around. Brock got to the belt after 1 win against Heath Herring. He was much bigger than Randy Couture. To have the WWE wrestler come in and win the UFC title brought more eyes absolutely.

Fuckn false

What boxers? Arlovski and Overeem's boxing are bad, both of them. Arlovski had hands long ago, Overeem has never.

And Ngannou was super sloppy in both of the finishing exchanges

yeah, it means ford escort power

With Brock, you're talking about a guy who has headlined four "1-million plus buys" PPVs. He even did 800k buys with Overeem after he got his ass kicked by Cain and was no longer the champ.

What about Ngannou do you think will make him a guy that is generating over a million PPV buys? He's got a big punch, but there's been a lot of guys with a big punch in the UFC.
