He'd be up there for current p4p but I think if that happens demetrious Johnson will finally get the recognition he deserves as #1 p4p fighter. As for GOAT, good career DC but he won't be the GOAT. Anderson silva and GSP ruled the world for 7 years with a combined 18 title defences. However it's been a lovely late career for DC, I just don't see him beating jones tho

Nope. He'd have 2 title defences and would be 1-1 with Bones. He'd have to beat Jones twice and beat his title defence record to be the LHW GOAT.

DC beating Jones would make them 1-1, obviously, and Jones would still have the better wins, more title defenses, be younger etc. In order for DC to be the GOAT he would have to make it 2-1 against Jones, OR go on defending the belt a few times, and Jones losing and never getting a rematch.

DC "merely" beating Jones to even the score doesn't make him GOAT. But he would certainly be closing in on the status.

He was completely outclassed last time. Being outclassed then winning the next fight doesn't mean you "avenged" the loss. You just evened the score.

Why do people care about title defenses so much? It's a shallow division and if DC beats Jones then the only one he wouldn't have a win over out of the top guys at LHW would be Glover.

He has a long way to go. His sample size is still limited and he really hasn't won the championship once let alone defended it. If he beats Jones, I will be extremely shocked but obviously DC's stock will rise. He then needs to put together a long run of title defenses. So, no a win over Jones won't make him the greatest fighter of all time. No one is even talking about him being that yet, one win doesn't make you better than Anderson Silva or Fedor. You will start to here that question asked if he pulls off the upset but that's only the first step. Jon Jones has been talked about as being one of the greatest for a while but it's not cemented yet, it takes a long time.
