If Conor wins...do you think....GSP/Mcgregor?!

A Conor vs George match may aswell be contested on a mat because we'd see zero stand up.

no.
Even if he beats Diaz, he will stay at max as a LW, so they can use the3 excuse he only lost because he fought a MW.

If he beats Diaz at LW, they will probably make the RDA fight for the belt. Not as big as GSP, but still a huge fight.

1)You said the excuse would be he lost fighting a MW, but there are no middleweights being discussed.

2)The announcement was that Nate and Mc are supposedly fighting at 170, not lightweight.

As a Conor fan, I don't know how this would happen against a full camp Nate, what's he going to do try and outlast him? With even weaker punches as he's trying to outlast and outbox Nate? Or take him to the ground? That's why this rematch is an awful idea, it will bring cash but so would Conor vs Edgar or RDA and I think he has more chances of winning those then this one.

Conor should fight Alvarez. The best fight for him coming off a loss. Alvarez has a even worse gas tank, and I doubt he could take Conor shots. But yes I agree Nate is the favorite and is a worse match up than both RDA and Edgar.

Why? So GSP can say he beat the FW champ...?

I dont think so lol. If George comes back its for WW gold.

GSP vs McGreg could be the biggest fight in UFC history. Don't be so sure GSP would pass that up in favor of a tougher fight for the ww title that would make him far less money.

Only scenario of Conor having a chance against GSP is if he kept his weight up and trained for a year or two at about 180 lbs and got some good wrestling sparring partners along with the addition of world class wrestling coach. All while keeping his striking at about the same level. He should also fight a few more times above FW.

Only after those things happened would I think maybe Conor had a prayer. Conor has 0 experience living in the heavier MMA world. Until he's lived their for a couple of years and improved on the ground, GSP would eat him alive.

This is one reason why I think Conor should ditch FW, leave it behind altogether. Because as long as he keeps orienting himself to that division he is not going to gain the strength and endurance that just comes from living heavier and training ONLY for the heavier world. He has to let go of FW.

When did "beating the #5 LW contender" after getting your ass whooped by him, become a ticket to a GSP fight.

GSP needs to show up and put his Anderson fight before we bother with inferior fighters the likes of Conor.

Conor would get grapple fooked into bolivian.

I think it's the obvious setup up if Conor pulls it off. Great gamble, because Conor can just go back to fw :)

Might happen, doubt it'll happen, would be pointless to have a fight that big with no belt, just a stupid fight.

Man, I think some fans wnat to bury Conor's 15 minutes of fame faster than the UFC is doing it. Conor is nowhere near GSP's league. Conor couldnt carry GSP's cup. Get it through your head. CONOR IS A 145 pound fighter and will never be a 170 pound fighter. When he wins against someone 170 pounds then maybe you can ask this question.

1) I understand that, but the casual Conor fan does not. Same with the excuse that Conor "went up two weight Classes" to fight Diaz.
Obviously anyone who understands and know MMA would know Diaz is a LW and they simply did not cut the last 15LBS. He did not fight a MW... but that's not that they passed, was it?

2) Sorry, it was a typo. I meant "...If he beats Diaz a LW, they will probably make the RDA fight for the belt. Not as big as GSP, but still a huge fight."
As you noted he is fighting Nate, not Nick.
So I don't think they will venture him to fight someone who would be Much bigger than Nate is. If he had issues beating Nate, just imagine what one of the best takedown artists in the world will do to him!
It will be takedown party. And GSP is lightyears ahead of Conor on the ground as well.

Zuffa already took a gamble on DIaz. This move is out of desperation to bring back the Conor Hype.

I'd love to see that fight. GSP could get a nice payday win or lose. Record setting.

GSP is the worst possible matchup for Conor. He'd just dump him and ground and pound him like he did to bj except Conor is smaller and has no jiu jitsu so it would be even easier.

Im not sure if GSP thinks the $ is worth more to him than reclaiming the title and cementing his legacy.

Not to mention McGregor got beat up by Diaz Jr.(who's really just a top-5 lw) so that fights not as appealing as it would have been had he kept winning.

Losing the Diaz fight might affect McGregor's drawing power a bit, but he's still the biggest draw in the UFC. Lawler's drawing power is nowhere near that of McGregor.

I agree with you that no one knows what GSP's motives for coming back would be, or even if he is motivated to come back at all. So maybe he would go for the title over the money.
