If Conor loses again against Nate and Edgar wins

Conor can't make 145 anymore even if he wanted to ... the UFC knows it ..so they just set up a rematch and an interim title fight.

Honestly, this is a rare "Can't Lose" situation for someone in McGregor's shoes. If he losses to Nate Diaz again, excuses about being too small for 170 will come out and people will get excited to see a "re-motivated" Conor back at 145 fighting for a title. His drawing power will only lose it's appeal if he potentially loses again to Diaz, then loses to Aldo/Edgar, and then loses a follow-up fight to a contender. People will still buy his shit for awhile and the Diaz rematch actually benefits him.

He won't lose. Dana's got some tricks up his sleeve this time

If Nate was smart, he would throw the fight to set up trilogy money. If he wins again, he only gets rematch money.

if he loses there is no chance they'll give him a rematch/rubber match

I said it in another thread, Conor vs Edgar at 155, whatever Conor wants to make this fight happen, 170? sure whatever, now its just on principal that i want them to fight, screw the meaningless belts

If Conor loses to Edgar or Aldo he will get an immediate rematch. And if he loses to Edgar it will be becuase Edgar is the " bigger man" who's taken shots from bigger guys and if it was anyone else in the division they would have died from such godly power. But that's just my guess

Aldo beats Edgar again, will be interesting to see how Aldo is after his 1st loss in 10 years. A pissed of Aldo would run through Edgar, Edgar can only take so much punishment before he finally gets KO'd....Aldo will do it

quite the play by the ufc - theyd much much rather connor aldo than connor-edgar. This at least opens that door for them.

Worst case scenario for them aldo wins against edgar and connor loses to nate - then where ya go?

I hope you are right. Nate could have added it to the contract. It would be bad for the UFC if they did.
