Let's face it: the reason why his fight with Jose Aldo was so big is simply because he talk trash a lot about his opponent which makes people furious and question about the time to come where there is someone who is able to shut him down inside the Octagon.

His fighting skill has never been the main attraction for the crowd compare to his trash talking skill, that's the reason why the lost to Nate really hurt his ego a lot. During the main event of UFC 196, crowd was booing at Nate until the moment when he got the upper hand over Conor, the whole environment change where crowd started to chant his name.

Even Conor himself admit that there is a lot of people celebrating of his loses at that time, which means that he is fully aware of the reason of his popularity is because of the rise of haters towards him.

So now he had lost, I would say that another lost for him will truly bring him down to where he belong in the first place.

he will definitely suffer a couple more losses if he can't stay at 145 and forced to 155 or 170. bye bye conor. what the heck. Even at 145, he got a good chance losing to Edgar and a rematch with Aldo.

He'd probably retire if he loses 1 more fight.

His ego can't handle multiple losses in a row.

He hasn't earned a Legacy yet Son.
Exactly. I don't even need to read your thread, blokes got 3 decent wins on his resume. If you think he has a legacy what does that say about the Silvers, GSPs, BJs and Jones of the world

YES!
I like him, but fight business is brutal, especially in MMA. If his next fight resolved a lost, his legacy will become nothing but a one hit wonder.

Anderson Silva would be the best example. It only took 2 lost.

What legacy? All he's done is talk his way into fame. What Conor did was make a bunch of casual UFC fans suddenly begin acting like they know anything about the sport at all, based on their fanboyism for one guy who's really one dimensional. The moment he lost, it was all over. These same casuals calling him "GOAT" even though Conor himself called most of his opponents "midgets." He's known for being one of the fastest tappers in MMA, and has zero ground game or wrestling whatsoever, so what legacy? His loud mouth? Chael's loud mouth > Conor's

All Conor had was "I have more money than you", and then even that got played out.

Nate did us all a favor and ended Conor's dreams of retiring undefeated from the UFC in 2016. He's now seen what fighting real men his size is like, and he wants no real part of it.

Conor will always be remembered for his quick tapping skills, and ability to turn tale and run RIP conor

He doesn't have a legacy per se yet, although he has claim to being the guy that ended Aldo's run (Kind of like Weidman at MW). 1 Loss won't hurt him too much but two in a row would be devastating for his brand.

What legacy? There's a legacy?

He had 3 big fights his whole career and he lost one of them...

You guys are really just jerking each other off with these fantasies.

Legacy? He's not even a future hall-of-famer at this point.

He shouldn't worry about his legacy. If he pisses off Lorenzo one more time he will be gone. It'll look like an accident.

His legacy is "talk a lot of shit and have 2 great wins" at the moment. I'm sure it'll get a bit better if he sticks to it. I'm confident after it's all set and done, we will remember the Conor days as "fun times while it lasted" and not "holy shit he's a God".

You laugh but you see Conor's next 3 fights here

Conor > Nate

Conor > Fedor

Conor > JDS (who had just KO'd Werdum for the HW Championship)

I don't write anyone off (well until father time catches you). Lots of people have made comebacks. Lots of guys with great legacy have mediocre records. Fight fans are fickle as hell anyway. Great to bum day after a loss. Basically its on Conor.

From what I see though I'm not sure he'll get it together anytime soon.
