If Cannonier gets the TS, does he have a chance to win?

Given the way Cannonier smashed Brunson, do you think he's:
A) deserving of the #1 contender slot and
B) can he actually beat Izzy?

His cardio is fantastic and I'm more than impressed with his raw power. I'm not sure, though, that he can deal with Adesanya's outside 'dancing' style and will lose handily. Any insight, Sherbros?

I've no idea, Izzy is beatable and he could be the guy.

Deserving sure, but do I think he's got much of a shot no, not really. Brunson clipped him early and he got pieced up by Whittaker for about 13 of the 15 minutes of their fight. Tbf Whittaker did break his arm early in that fight but still don't think Cannonier's shown anything to make me think he's a serious threat to Adesanya.

Jared is neither as explosive, nor close to as good of a grappler as Yoel is.

Totally different threat profile. I think Israel feels comfortable and starches him.

Depends on if his chin holds up. If he’s able to take one to give one he has the power and speed to hurt izzy. But he will get hit and he’ll have to make sure his legs are well conditioned and his cardio is at its peak

Negatory.. it would look like the Costa fight. Romero is a freak athlete. Cannonier is not even on the same planet as Yoel in terms athleticism

One thing I notice about Izzy is he's pretty heavy on that lead leg. Rob tonight and even Costa landed a couple low kicks on him but never followed up or went back to them. I would like to see how Cannoneirs leg kicks and power punching would fair against Izzy but overall I think a lack of combinations and not mixing in clinch and takedowns would be his downfall against Izzy.

He stands no chance. Cannonier is just Izzy but worse. I suppose there's a 1 percent "puncher's chance" but he has nothing for izzy.

The way to counter kickboxing is either boxing or wrestling. It all involves closing the distance and making the fight a telephone booth struggle. Perhaps grinding Izzy against the cage like Usman did to Masvidal in their first fight.

Cannonier is just another kickboxer who happens to be a bit more explosive and durable than some others in the division. He will get picked apart.

Izzy is very good defensively, but I would give him 25% chance to win. With a well thought out defensive strategy I could definitely see him start catching Izzy in the later RD:s.

Cannonier has nothing for Israel
A grappler will be the one to dethrone him
