If Aldo retains should McGregor get next? (Poll)

I have mixed feelings on this since Aldo may leave the weight class in time. I would love to see him fight Aldo before that occurs. But in general, I think it takes away some of the excitement when somebody fights the champion too quickly. I like the idea of him fighting one other Top 10 opponent first if Aldo is still available.

Not coming off of a lackluster win over Jeremy Stephens. Give him Frankie or the loser of Aldo/Mendes and he can be considered for a title shot then.

Personally, I don't see him beating any of them.

If Cub wins, he should get it. If Cubs loses and Bermudez wins, he should get it. If both lose, I guess McGregor should get it.

Rankings wise, probably not. But, for the sake of seeing a good fight, sure? I'd love to see him against Aldo. I think I'd still pick Aldo but it'd be a really interesting fight. We've seen Aldo/Edgar & Aldo/Swanson before too, so.

The way McGOAT is taking out his opponents he deserves a shot. Who else could make a better matchup for Aldo? He has been beating everyone quite handily, time for a challenge.

No, not quite. I'd prefer to see Cub/Bermudez get the shot, provided they win their respective fights, or at least witness a bout between Conor and The Answer before he takes on an entire different world when he faces Aldo.

You need more options than yes and no because in my mind it depends. To me it comes down to who wins Edgar vs Swanson. If Frankie wins then yeah, give Conor the shot. However if Cub wins that puts him on a 7 fight winning streak, against pretty amazing competition.

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed in the UFC. Then again, if you look it guys like Jones and Weidman, they got the same treatment. I think what bothers me the most though is that the Featherweight division is stacked IMO. You have a lot of talented fighters who deserve the title shot. LHW and MW weren't nearly as rich in opponents, so I saw their title shots as justified.

Either McGregor will prove he's legit like Jones and Weidman did, or he'll get whooped and all this nonsense can be over with.

I agree it sucks for him, but it is a rematch despite it being quite a long time ago.

If the other non-rematch contenders had recent questionable losses, then a win over edgar should definitely get swanson the shot.

but neither bermudez nor mcgregor have questionable losses, and if bermudez wins his fight, he is clearly a top level fw.

I'd rather have either of these guys fight for the title than swanson
