If Aldo, Barao, and Gadelha all lose their next fights badly, is Nova Uniao finished as a top gym?

Not a hate thread, I'm actually a fan of Claudia and like Barao a little, am neutral towards Aldo. Just as a theoretical scenario though... Nova Uniao used to be one of Brazil's crown jewels in the MMA world (and a Mecca of weight cutting), but it's gone through rough times lately. There's certainly no shame in losing to Frankie or Joanna, and Stephens is no pushover either, but IF all three lose badly in their upcoming fights, will you feel like Nova Uniao as a gym is past its prime/in Team Alpha Male territory? Is it already past its prime?

Bonus question - what other big name gyms might be past their prime besides UN and TAM?

You're just looking for Conor fans to come in here and spew nonsense.

Exactly, is Conor done playing touch but in the park now that he lost? No one is asking the real questions that need to be asked

I wasn't even thinking of Conor, I had a thought about the concept of gyms declining as fighters do and UN was the one on the verge that came to mind.

What do Gadelha and Barao have to do with Conor anyway lol

Hacran Diaz's performance against Cub Swanson will be important evidence as well.

Diaz gonna grapplefuck Cub against the fence for 3 rounds? Nah, doesn't seem like a important evidence, Cub is fading a bit.

You're on steroids.

Probably not.

it'll definitely be a sign that they aren't one of the top 3 camps anymore (I used to have them up there with Jacksons and AKA)

they'll still be pretty good though

Remember when we could count on the Blackzillians losing?

One thing about NU that always bothers me; whenever they do embedded or Countdown and show them training, there's like 50 guys standing around in this tiny room with pillars in the middle of it.

How is that the best location for a gym?

Isn't andre pederneiras retiring? I can't imagine the gym lasting much longer without him.

I don't think those three losing would be an indicator of the gym closing. Fighters sometimes lose. Gyms go through to feast and famine periods. the fact that they have so many top fighters probes they are doing well

Doesn't mean the gym is lacking prospects you haven't heard of or that Andre P. and the coaching staff can't turn things around.

I mean...Rafael Cordeiro is the guy at Kings MMA and where is Chute Boxe now in comparison?

Cris Cyborg and Thomas Almeida? Are they in the same lineage (so to speak) of Wand, Shogun and Anderson or just in name only?
