Idea for UFC

With the UFC being more willing to do spectacle shows with the Sphere and White House events, why not do their annual Japan events Pride style in Saitama Super Arena in a ring and everything. Pretty much as an exact Pride replica throwback event.

I would be willing to bet so many of the top fighters would want to be on that card and have that experience. It would draw huge gate numbers in Japan guaranteed and off nostalgia alone would bring in a huge hardcore audience as well as introduce new fans to this amazing promotion. The UFC owns Pride so nothing would be stopping them to hold a Pride event for their Japan shows. If anyone from the UFC is lurking sherdog please pitch this idea to Dana lol

Would be cool, but I thought Japan was ultra nationalistic. They don't really support UFC because it's an American company, even if it's referencing their history. Not just that, but I'm guessing there would be some issue having a ring instead of a cage?

Whatever reason, doesn't seem like UFC has tried to do much in Japan for whatever reason.

That would be more of a gift to the hardcore fans. Most fans in the US don’t know about anything before 2015. I think if they were to do anything in Japan, they should find a new name… that brand doesn’t have the same pull that it used to almost 20 years ago.

I know other promotions still go back and forth between ring and cage but sticking to the octagon is worth it for the consistency
