Iconic pro wrestlers who died young.

Reid Flair doesn’t count as iconic I think but sad.

I remember listening to this podcast and they were talking about all the participants in Wrestlemania 7 and I think it was 17 dead whereas out of the over 100 players in the 1991 Super Bowl there was a total of 0 dead. Crazy, sad business.
There was one WCW PPV (I forget which one) where there's one surviving participant from the whole show.

Overdoses of one drug and accidental(or not) mixing of drugs are the same?

Jumping Tsuruta and Misawa were both huge stars in Japan that died in their 40s, and think Giant Baba was in his 50s or early 60s.

Eddie and Mike Graham both commited suicide.

I don't think either would qualify as young though.

Rikidozan was 39 when he died. Stabbed by yakuza, wouldn't seek treatment and died of infection.

I seen interviews from other wrestlers that said Rick Rude committed suicide. His junk had to be amputated and he killed himself over it.

Wait. X Pac isn't dead...
Whenever I saw him pop up I asked myself the same thing. He was just on a GCW ppv and he actually looked really good. I thought/hoped he was gonna be in the royal rumble.

Haha, that's just too funny and fits his character too well to be true. Or maybe that's exactly why it is true...

How is Perry Saturn still alive? Watching these early 2000 Raws, it's weird as hell seeing him and Dean Malenko in WWF/E

I can't believe Big Bossman was only 41 when he died, he must have been young as fuck when he was feuding with Hulk Hogan

Paul Bearer, 58, heart.

He was only 58?

What blows my mind is he was only 36 when he began to be the Undertaker's manager.

Anyway, some of the names on that list were big men. Very big men. Show business doesn't typically attract those who have an importance of living long and healthy lives.

Some other names passed on early due to steroid use, and others due to ODs... whether they be for painkillers OR hardcore drug use.

IMHO, WWE really did Test dirty. After the media backlash from Benoit they instituted a strict drug testing program and Test got pinched, and threw him to the curb.

When Pro-Wrestlers dedicate themselves to be in practically the ONLY Pro-Wrestling org and they get cut and there's no one else willing to hire them? Bet the depression rates are through the roof.

Test requested his release. He lived in FL just like all the other Canadian wrestlers and wanted time off from the road while still getting a decent pay check in TNA.
