I won't say early stoppage against, but they need to be more consistent.

Watch bader v pokrajac.. He is turtles up and takes 200 shots in the position Stephens was in. The crowd wasn't amped so there was no stoppage. That was ridiculous and should have come earlier, but there are quite a few like that. Lesnar v carwin in the first? Good comeback win by lesnar, but he gassed carwin out punching on him in the first round there in the exact same position Stephens was in.

I'm not saying it was that bad, but maybe they need a rule or something to add consistency.

Does anybody else feel it wasn't a late stoppage, but others get longer?

I felt some 5 more punches would justify the stoppage

That was a fantastic bodyshot by Aldo. That being said, I wasn't happy about the stoppage and neither was Stephens who blocked most of the gnp and was working hard to get up.
It is what it is, an early stoppage.

I like the fact that refs are familiar enough with fighters to know just how much punishment they can take. Also, consider refs are right there, in the octagon, looking at fighters to see if they are done or not. Honestly, the fight could have been stopped right here. Nobody comes back from liver shots like that. Its a delayed yet an extended pain.

I think the stoppage had as much to do with Stephens' body language as any shots Aldo was landing at the time.

I don't think it was liver. Too high. I think it was a clean body shot that took his wind away. Could have been liver, but I don't think so.

He looked like that pain was nearly gone when he got up.

When did he get up?

But you can think what you want. I usually deal in facts though in case you didn't know. Look at Dustin's skin ripples and tell me thats not a liver shot.

Its not worst stoppage in the world but the referee looked like he percieved jeremys position to be worse than it was. He didnt go limp but you can see how thought he mightve

No intelligent defense, no fight.

Eddie was toast and Stephens was getting blasted, the only thing that comes out of them being allowed to keep eating shots is CTE.

I was pleased with the stoppages, didn't allow needless damage.

Dude was not defending. And I wanted Aldo to continue to smash Stephens. Got dropped, takes a bunch of hits while Aldo is mounted. Aldo moves to take the back and lands one on the liver again. Stephens rolls over face down and took a hammerfist on both sides of his head with no attempts to cover up. He was done.

Yeah I agree stephens should have been completely out - despite not fighting back for about 30 seconds.

What the fuck are these stoppages without the loser getting CTE.

I can't find Dustin's skin ripples in that pic for some reason, any help?
