I want to start by saying that the French crowd really exceeded my expectations, wow.
Looked like a London crowd, but in a French sense<45>
Succesful debut in France. I’m sure the UFC will return there.
And I haven’t even talked about the fights yet. What a great night of fights:D

We arrived in Paris friday afternoon and immediately went to the ceremonial weigh-ins and Q&A featuring GSP. Hotel was at 100 m from the Accor Arena, so luckily that wasn’t a long walk.

The Q&A with GSP was fun. MMA reporters were the first to ask questions. Then it was the fans' turn to ask questions. I also entered the queue to ask a question, but unfortunately they ran out of time and I didn’t make it to the mic.
GSP is so well spoken, a joy to listen to him.

Followed by the ceremonial weigh-ins.
Here’s a vid of Tuivasa’s and Gane’s weigh-in and staredown:

After this we went to an English-pub to eat something, followed by a lot of beer while enjoying ARES 8 on tv:

Around 1am we were getting wasted, so we went back to the hotel.
On our way back we walked by the UFC fan-experience so I decided to open the gate and walk inside, while my dad made this blurry ass picture of me standing totally sober at UFC-ground by midnight:cool:

When I woke up I had a little letdown, but after eating a few croissants I was ready to go to the UFC fan-experience:cool:

I met Volkan Oezdemir at the fan-experience:

And almost got into a fight with him:

He’s a nice dude

I also had the pleasure to meet Brandon Moreno:

Afterwards Brandon told me he felt honored to meet one of Sherdog’s own:

What a fun kid he is. You ain’t gonna see him not smiling

I also had a face-off with my dad, just for fun:

My old man is actually standing a little bit taller than me, but for some reason he looks shorter here (I think he’s kneeling a bit)

The UFC fan-experience was fun. We went to eat something and after that we entered the Accor Arena. It looked like the Arena was almost fully packed before the prelims even started, insane!

Okay so before I start talking fighting I wanna share this:
This fella walked by like 100 times, so he got my attention at some point.
The guy was dressed like a woman, (which is okay imo, I really have no problems with that), not a normal woman but a caveman woman. He got make-up on his face aswell..
He was also built like a god damn bodybuilder and had a lot of tattoos. And as cherry on the cake: His handbag was in the shape of a golden fist.
What a fucking warrior<45>
For some reason he seemed familiar to me. Is he some kind of hardcore/known UFC-fan maybe?

Allright, so Bruce Buffer kicked the event off:

Here Bruce introduced the main card:

My fellow Dutchman Jarno Errens walked out to some techno music:

Marvin Vettori brought some fantastic Italian fans with him. Didn’t help him much in the fight, but still pretty sick imo. Check it out:

But Bobby Knuckles had the French crowd on his side:

Tuivasa’s walkout was fun as always:

Gane got by far the biggest pop:

BamBam walked out the octagon with his son on his shoulder:

I was almost walking outside, but then I saw Gane walking out of the octagon and filmed that aswell:

Ngannou walked away and got some pop:

Aswell as Usman:

At the start of the event my boy Skyscraper Steven Struve walked by too:

I forgot something! When we entered the Arena and went down the stairs we immediately bumped into the ESPN+ team featuring Lionheart Anthony Smith:D

I’ve also made a thread about my experiences at GLORY 81: Jamal Ben Saddik vs Benjamin Adegbuyi, about 2/3 weeks ago.
I took photos with some fighters, filmed a lot, etc.
Put a lot of time in that one but unfortunately it got moved right away, so it didn’t get a lot attention.
If you haven’t checked it out yet make sure to do so if you want to:D :

I'm really starting to hate you with those "I wish I was you for these events" kinds vibe. But on a more serious note, live life to the fullest and thanks for sharing with those of us that may never experience these joyous occasions in person.

I'm enjoying your thread and haven't read it entirely yet, but I just wanted to react on this : this tuesday there was the PSG/Juventus champions league match in Paris, so I can totally imagine a lot of Italians fans going on a MMA/Football Paris trip :D hence the football game atmosphere in the arena !

Edit : also maybe the reason why the Paris crowd was more on Bobby's side.

Another edit : Glad you enjoyed the event. As you know I couldn't be there and I'm so happy that it was such a success, with a good crowd, and a 5/5 for our national fighters (we are very chauvinistic when it comes to sports ; the chanting and way of supporting obviously come from our football traditions ; I'm sure you know that, coming from such a great football country).

Thanks for the quality posting, as always !

Wow!!!!! I’m shocked to hear that AresFC is on TV and shown in bars over in France. I didn’t know it was that big of a promotion
I know the UFC Paris event was shown on tv everywhere in France. Normally it’s only available for people with extra subscription, but since it was in France they bought tv-rights and made it free for everyone. I guess it’s the same with ARES and they also participated in this one time tv-weekend deal?
Anyway, good for the sport
