Angela Hill actually stepped up her aggression for a while compared to her TUF days, but all it earned her was decision/split decision losses to Waterson, Torres, Gadelha, and Lemos. She was objectively robbed in some of those fights, and if not for a few robberies, she should have had a title fight by now.

I don’t blame her at all for trying to point fight at this stage. Anyone who says otherwise hasn’t actually followed her career.

Yeah shes much better than her record like michael johnson on her day she can hang with almost anybody.

Hill is a game opponent, but she’s 40yo now, so it’s hard to see her ever getting another shot at a belt. Bad judging screwed her career.

I was a detractor coming off her TUF run, but she visibly improved her entire game and became more aggressive. Sadly it did not earn her any points on the judges scorecards, and she’s been in limbo ever since. Pisses me off to see people hating on her at this point though. She did all she could and was victim to bad judging, now she just tries to play the game.

She was in the UFC in her 2nd fight. That's kinda getting thrown to the wolves and expected to be good immediately. It shouldn't be overlooked that almost ect other fighter gets to work their way in really low level regional fights before getting into the UFC.

Judges are the reason she doesn't seem better. In her 13th fight, 4 years into her pro career, she was beating the #10 SW in the world. After her 20th fight, 6 years into her pro career, she should have been in the top 5, and her record should have been 15-5 or 14-6 and that's without the benefit of any regional padding.

For instance, Khabib got into the top-5 around 6 years into his pro career as well, and that was after his his 22nd pro fight, having had 16 regional fights to bolster those numbers. That's what grinding at the low levels can do for your career

Yan fight could have went her way, Waterson fight probably should have gone her way, Ricci and Casey straight up should have gone her way, Lemos and Gadelha definitely should have gone her way.

Had they, then a career of 23-10 or even 24-9 almost completely in the UFC and ranked almost the whole time should be nothing to sneeze at.

Pretty much cements her as someone usually in the back half of the rankings but good enough to make top 5. But she kept that position for 7 years, which seems like one of the longest times to keep that pretty elite status

She’s still a solid gatekeeper at this stage, test prospects and be a good name for build off of.

That Waterson robbery was criminal, cost me a huge bet.
