I think Ferg should fight Raging Al when he returns

So a guy on a 10-fight winstreak is a gatekeeper?

lmfao, fuck off.
It was a joke in regards to the entire premise of this thread being 'who beats Al better'..

I like Ragin' Al! I will not fuck off!!

Tony vs Conor first.
I can't imagine Conor coming back and
a) not fighting for the title
b) not fighting Khabib, given the immense amount of hype that fight would get

Even if we could argue that Tony and Conor would be equally deserving contenders,
it would feel weird to have a stripped champ and a stripped interim champ fight in a non-title fight.
And money wise, a big wasted opportunity for the UFC.

It has to be Ferg or Conor for the next shot, the whole division is almost as much as a mess as before.

Nonsense.
If you don't think the UFC could justify a title shot based on him surviving against the champ (and looking better than most do) on 1 day's notice, then I just don't know what you're thinking.
Surviving ? That’s your criteria for earning a title shot ?

Tony should fight the urge to wear his shades indoors causing card ending injuries

Surviving ? That’s your criteria for earning a title shot ?

Heh.
Your reading comprehension could use some work.

I said nothing about my criteria or "earning" a title shot. I said the UFC could justify one.

On one day's notice, he went the distance with the most dominant LW in MMA. On top of that, Rogan's already laid the groundwork for the narrative that khabib was somehow "exposed" in this fight - a narrative that's already caught on in some circles.

If he were to go on to beat Tony (the man who should rightfully be the #1 ranked contender), the UFC could quickly spin it into a story that would have half the fanbase clamoring for them to give "full camp" Al a second shot at Khabib.
If you won't/don't see that, I think you're blind but I we'll have to agree to disagree.

I don't Tony needs to be "punished" and forced to do another tune up fight.
The man has a 10 fight win streak for god's sake. Nothing more to prove besides winning a belt.

Too bad for him that the Khabib vs Tony history means that everyone will be hesitant to attempt that shit again for the 5th time.

AL would be a good match for Tony if he wants someone that's not super risky, but still has a decent name (Al's name recognition went up like 200% after the title fight) .
If Tony can finish Al that makes a great case for talking shit to Khabib.

Al only fought for the title because he was PHYSICALLY at the right place at the right time. His RANKINGS say otherwise. He's not top 10 so losing to the #1 guy doesn't earn him a fight with #2. He needs to break into the top ten and then five before thinking about him getting a fight at the top of the top

Tony will give him another beat down, Al isn't anything special haha

That works Both ways.Khabib had one days notice for him too.Who knows how bad he would’ve beaten him with a full camp. Stop making out like al didn’t have a full camp either you moron. He was in shape and had trained hard for a fight he didn’t just step in off the couch.

My reading comprehension is just fine.

If you think the ufc are in a hurry to give fuckin al iaquinta another title shot then I really don’t know what to say to you. He was a last resort. Nothing more.

There’s a reason he was on a 5 fight win streak and no where near contention
