I think Colby's cardio is a bit overated when you compare him to an Usman or Khabib

Old RDA took Colby down in the fourth round and won that round.

Colby is suppose to be a better wrestler than old RDA.

The only reason Colby got taken down by old RDA because Colby was tired.

Khabib stood and strike with Conor in the third round. Conor had no success in the third round vs. Khabib, no knockdown / dropping him, no hurting Khabib or wobbling him, he just won a close round while both were striking against each other, Khabib slapped Conor several times and landed good shots as well.

This is similar to Nate Diaz losing the fourth round against Conor, how did this happen? I thought Nate's cardio was > Conor's cardio?

Still, Nate couldn't finish Conor in the fifth round, while Khabib finished Conor in the fourth round with ease.
Yawn. I'm done fellow. It's on you guys to understand what the word cardio means at this point. I can paste you a fucking dictionary definition but I am 1000% sure you still won't understand, nor any of the other people I've replied to in this thread.

Khabib's output vs RDA over 3 rounds - 36 of 97
Colby's output vs RDA over 5 - 99 of 296 (Keep in mind Khabib was more dominant in his fight, which is LESS TAXING ON CARDIO).....

Yes, tell me more about how they even remotely compare..... bahahahaha

Yeah, RDA took Colby down because Colby was tired... that's it... lol he was so gassed he threw more than double the strikes Khabib threw against RDA in round 3, in round 5...

Bye now.

This is a stupid argument that i see thrown around all the time, why would a professional athlete be natrual when his competition is on ped's? It makes absolutely no sense, there is no room for morals when you're at the highest level, there is only money and results
Isn't jones the only relevant person that ever popped at 205? people too often claim everyone is on steroids just because their favorite fighter got popped

Colby got tired against RDA, Robbie Lawler and Usman.
Even against Masvidal he slowed down.
Khabib is much more explosive than Colby.
Colby is just one pace with no acceleration or explosiveness. That takes less energy.
Khabib also squeezes his legs to control opponents with his legs without using his hands. He uses his free hands for ground and pound with much more power than Colby.
Khabib uses much more energy than Colby. Khabib gass tank is much higher.
If Khabib fights in the same way as Colby with no explosiveness, power shots and ground and pound. He can fight 5 fights on the same night.

If you want to do a comparison don't fixate only on output. Output is relative. Colby output are not powershots but just swinging in one pace to back his opponent up against the fence.

I honestly don't see how Colby's cardio could even be questioned at this point. His personality makes people hate him and people always discredit people they hate but the man clearly has all time great cardio

No he didn't.

I guess Max Holloway has overrated cardio too because he has no power. That settles it.

I've seen Khabib get tired in every fight that lasted more than 10 minutes and he was in control of 99.9% of all of them. That isn't taxing to the cardio at all when you're in control and don't get hurt even a little bit.

You Khabibi fans can't have it both ways... You have to admit to something here about your boy and if you aren't willing to admit it, there's nothing to discuss.

Like 2 old people fucking

<JonesLaugh>

lol even Colby nearly getting finished by Usman has never been slow with no output like this. This is in round 3. Literally no chance Colby would be this slow with this little output by round 3. There's no debate to be had here. Just Khabib fanboys that are delusional beyond belief.

Well I consider Usman having top notch cardio.

And I had Colby winning the last 2 rounds of their second fight.

So he's not too shabby.
The fool who started the thread is ignoring that Usman is bigger than Colby, which means that it's more taxing for COLBY when fighting him! The fact that Colby won the last 2 rounds according to the judges, despite getting hit hard many times, dropped twice in the previous three rounds and having to clinch and wrestle a man half a weight class larger with great skills himself, is solid evidence that Colby's cardio is better than Usman's, maybe a good bit better.

Usman made it look overrated
That's just how good Usman is :D

Khabib was notorious for taking rounds off - he did it vs Al, Conor, Barboza and others. He cut a tremendous amount of weight (40 pounds from his walk weight according to his team captain), missed weight 4 times, so that probably played a factor as well. Khabib also never faced anyone close to Colby or Usman's level that could push him an find out how good his cardio was - no doubt Colby would look unstoppable if he got to beat up on drunk McTapper, mihael Johnson, Al and Doostin too.

Colby is lighter than many lightweights, like Dustin, Tony and Khabib too, and is a throwback in the sense that he does not cut tons of weight but does so in order that he can have more cardio. If you look at what 'pound for pound' should really mean, Colby very likely is the best p4p fighter on the planet now considering how even his fight was with the ranked #1 p4p Usman (the majority of fans had it a draw according to MMA Decisions). Very bizarre take to say Usman has better cardio when Colby just out cardio'd Usman and won the last three rounds in the majority of people's mind ---- finishing stronger than the other guy is the best indicator that he has better cardio.

Colby has no power in his strikes or gnp at all which helps preserve his gastank.

He also is content not to advance position.

You mean he hits at 60% most times?

What's that saying sherdog likes to say...?

Styles make fights.

Get educated.

Based on absolutely nothing.

I already answered the nonsense about Khabib losing the third round vs. Conor, then every round Colby lost it means he was tired: see old RDA in the fourth round vs. Colby. Colby lost that round, Khabib didn't lose a round vs. RDA.

Wow, this dork is triggered in this thread lol. Are you Khabib's towel?

Agreed 100%

I can't argue against that. You make a decent point.

Jesus christ guys, I'm not talking about his skill set, I'm talking about his physical attributes, slow twitch= good cardio, fast twitch= explosive power but bad cardio, colby is slow twitch so he has good cardio, khabib and usman are on the fast twitch side but they also have good cardio, thus, khabib and usman's cardio is more impressive given the fact that they are also very fast compared to colby

Khabib is great, but I wouldn't describe him as explosive, he grinds and works. Colby also does more damage than you give him credit for with his "pillow" fists. He does throw some strikes for volume, but he also throws plenty with intention too.
