I think Colby's cardio is a bit overated when you compare him to an Usman or Khabib

Uh no.
If one throws hard and still has a lot of gas, it's somewhat more impressive than one that doesn't throw many fully committed strikes and still has a lot of gas.
Uh yes... if you throw a little harder than me anc gas in 5 minutes and I go 20, you don't have better cardio...

But that is no one´s argument, Usman doesn´t gas in five minutes, I have no idea why you bring that example up.
The example is about both fighters going 20 minutes, one throwing the kitchen sink and the other pitter patting.

Time´s the same but one would be more impressed by the first despite both have elite cardio.
Don´t know how to explain this more clearly

Why is it an issue that Colby has better cardio than Khabib? I thought it was a given? Colby is a smaller guy in his division and his way to win is control the fight for 25 minutes.
Do you see the logic they're using to try and claim khabib has better cardio? It's pretty embarrassing.

What are uou talking about usman for? I'm talking about khabjb.... he's never had an output like colbysx and has taken off rounds where he couldn't put the guy away.

We literally have video evidence showing khabib not having cardio on colbys level yet you guys are legit straw grasping to make claims khabib has better cardio because he may punch a little bit harder than Colby...

It's weird. They are both good. It's like comparing 10 to 8. 10 being Colby. Colby has energy as the hammer or the nail. I really thought it was a given that Colby had better cardio but less technical compared to Khabib. Even on the feet Colby throws a lot more volume with variation. It's different from Khabib who mainly boxes and throws the occasional low kick.

His punch output record is 150 above the rest, plus takedowns.

Maybe Colby has less cardio than those guys, but I'll say he'll rely on it more than them. Khabib is a master at his craft, and Usman is a overwhelming physical presence at WW.

So we see more of Colby's cardio, or more fights where Colby wins because of his cardio.

Just show me one round where Khabib was gased and getting manhandled like this

5th round Khabib

if you can't show me a video or mention a round where Khabib was as tired as Colby here then you have lost the argument

Evidence > Words

Show me rounds of colbys like khabib vs Conor in the 3rd... khabib vs Al.....

Colby has a higher output in every fight and actually isn't the hammer the whole time, which saps your cardio more than being the hammer the whole time...

We have numerous instances of video... lol

You're just lying to yourself at this point, Even after that 50+ ground strikes flurry Khabib was much fresher than Colby in the 4th against RDA where all he was doing is breathing heavy and taking his time to get up, Khabib was doing great in the stand up against a great striker in the 3rd, and against all he was running, jumping flying knees and getting a takedown x10 fresher than Colby

Jesus christ guys, I'm not talking about his skill set, I'm talking about his physical attributes, slow twitch= good cardio, fast twitch= explosive power but bad cardio, colby is slow twitch so he has good cardio, khabib and usman are on the fast twitch side but they also have good cardio, thus, khabib and usman's cardio is more impressive given the fact that they are also very fast compared to colby

I understand where you are going... But I think the picture is a little bigger than the one you paint.

"Twitch" has to be considered further than just punching/hands.

Look at Covington's late rounds scrambling over his career... The dude is lightening in the 5 just like he is in the 1st... He has plenty of speed.

He just doesn't have the mechanics to hit hard... Whether that is by training choice of techniques or by his physical build is over my head... Jon Jones can't hit hard either... Never got his KO Man strength... But he is plenty fast and plenty explosive... Or was in his prime.

I loath Covington and watch him only to see him loose.... But his physicality is not something that should be open to much criticism. I really can't think of a time when he faded in a fight other than from striking damage.

There, is said it, colby has basically no fast twitch muscle, he's the wrestling version of Nate Diaz, he has zero power in his punches, like shockingly pillow handed, so ofc he can go at a high pace, usman and khabib are actually fast twitch is some regards, khabib is just fucked by his biomechancis, he has bad mobility with his punches but his straight punches are very fast and sharp, usman has actual proper ko power in his shots and can stay with colby's pace... khabib, especially in his earlier fights was a gnp machine, I don't think people realize just how insane it is to be able to grapple at a high pace, throw heavy gnp and then get up and strike like nothing happened, bieber was an absolute freak when it comes to muscle endurance. Usman is a less technical grappler but a bigger and stronger than khabib

Discuss...

Nah I've never seen Masvidal that tired.

Colby's pace is nutty

all of them have great cardio, i wouldn't put anyone obove the other. wrestling, striking, bjj is another story.

So you compare a fighter to two of the best to ever do it, ok.

You're not showing me anything to prove khabib has better cardio.... sorry fella... you guys just don't get it and that's fine... I don't care anymore at this point. You aren't convincing me khabib has better cardio... I have video evidence showing him slowing his pace way more than Colby has in any fight ever soooooo yeah.

Old RDA took Colby down in the fourth round and won that round.

Colby is suppose to be a better wrestler than old RDA.

The only reason Colby got taken down by old RDA because Colby was tired.

Khabib stood and strike with Conor in the third round. Conor had no success in the third round vs. Khabib, no knockdown / dropping him, no hurting Khabib or wobbling him, he just won a close round while both were striking against each other, Khabib slapped Conor several times and landed good shots as well.

This is similar to Nate Diaz losing the fourth round against Conor, how did this happen? I thought Nate's cardio was > Conor's cardio?

Still, Nate couldn't finish Conor in the fifth round, while Khabib finished Conor in the fourth round with ease.
