I'm not a WWE fan at all. But I support CM Punk. I'm a huge fan of people who put it all on the line to follow there dreams. Anyone who does that has my respect. No matter what happens Saturday, I give Phil Props for this. He's also a fellow Chicago native who's also straight edge so that helps.

you're from chicago? you look like you're from syria

and not the good part of syria
Lol let me guess. If your not white your not American. Even though I was born In Chicago and only speak English. Is that you Colby?

If he was making beginner pay I'd agree. Anyone would step in there for 500k. I do think it's an interesting experiment though tbh. Taking a guy with next to zero experience and seeing how he does after a couple years training

You think you could beat CM punk? Serious

"Put it all on the line" lol. Who wouldn't put it all on the line for 500K and about 4 minutes of glorified sparring. What a joke this guy is.

It’s not zero experience... it’s that he’s old and also has zero athleticism. Literally just a guy whose body has been battered for years.

It’d be more interesting to see LeBron James in there

I basicly said the same thing in another thread about his pay. If he was getting 50/50k i would support him, but he is making 10x that. At the end of the day he is doing this for a paycheck, not glory, he will crumble when things get rough. Atleast after this, he will get beaten back to WWE.

Brock was an exception to the rule, he was a huge SOB with NCAA credentials.

Ya... But see there's a big problem with your logic. $500k to CM Punk, isn't like $500k for me and you (unless you're some big baller, which this is the internet so everyone makes 6 figures). Sure, EVERYONE wants $500k, I'm sure even Bill Gates would pull over the side of the road and pick up a briefcase full of money.

But he's made millions. He's putting his reputation on the line I guess you could say.. which in the future might inhibit him from making more money, from appearances, maybe a movie, or whatever the hell he wants to do to make money (be sherdog mod?).

But ya, it ain't the same. I'm rooting for the guy. He seems like a nice guy, he wants a chance to fight and the UFC said yes. Everyone shouldn't give a fuck about whether or not he "deserves" to be on the main card. I mean Ronda can go over to WWF, and get slapped in the main event of Wrestefuckingmania, and everyone roots for her to do good, even though she's a cunt.

So why the hate? Because he didn't "earn" it? We just had a fucking PPV main event of Nunes and Pennington, and people are hating on CM Punk being on main card? LoL I'll never understand the stupid shit people concern themselves with, that doesn't impact their life in the least.

According to a quick google search hes worth 8 million. Not sure how accurate that is though. 500k is still 500k. He's also been talking about how this recent lawsuit thing has been designed to drain his finances so who knows how much he has. He can't go back to the WWE and he's in the twilight of his career anyway. This is a cashgrab

Ya no shit, that's why I said just about everyone would for $500k... but that isn't his motivating factor for him. I mean you just said $8 million. Wonder what that Sugar homo has in his bank account? $20 and bag of cheesy poofs? See for him, $500k would probably make him cum in his pants... For CM Punk it's a great pay day, but I'm guessing here, that his mortgage was covered this month with or without the fight.

Be happy for somebody going after something that they got embarrassed at before. Even with you being the coolest guy on the planet (Ya you op) you can understand and respect that... right?

I see no reason to hate on the guy. He seems humble enough, and yes, he is getting preferential treatment because he is a big draw, but that's not his fault. That is just the nature of the business, he is not claiming he belongs to the top, or that he is one of the best fighters in the world. It takes a lot of balls to just step in the octagon, at the highest level, with such limited experience.

I respect him for pursuing something many dream of but don’t have the guts to do. With that said, it kind of delegitimize the sport.

But that isn’t on him but the UFC.

You disappoint join date 2007. He is not hungry enough to improve at such a level. He is going to get into rough waters like he did when he fought Gall. The difference is, he doesn't have that do or die attitude. Especially when he is making 500k.

Also, those who say it's bs he gets main card exposure over more deserving fighters are missing the point.

He is a big draw, earned or not. His own accomplishments aside, it benefits all the fighters on the card to have such a big draw at the top of a card, because more eyes are watching and you are bound to get more exposure as well. CM Punk is a bad fighter, but a lot of people will tune in to see him perform, and this puts the rest of the card before a lot of eyes. That is good, for everyone.

he put nothing on the line. he was an unemployed guy that wanted a check so his wife would not leave him.

I agree, he is not UFC caliber and therefore the UFC shouldn't put him on a card, I don't fault CM Punk for stepping into the cage, that takes balls but he is not skilled enough to fight in the premiere organization.

Everytime i see this gif i can't help but wonder if CM thought about throwing that knee or if he was attempting to stuff Mickey's TD. If he was thinking of throwing that knee, he could have very well ended that fight right then and there.
