I stopped drinking Sugar free energy drinks and diet pop

I used to drink sugar free red bull and rockstar like a fucking fiend, I quit energy drinks and pop altogether and I can honestly say its one of the best things ive ever done for myself.
I always had a hard time getting in shape and waking up early no matter what time I slept, now im losing weight alot more efficiently and have no issues waking up. I think that whatever they put into that stuff seriously fucks up your system and slows down your metabolisms, and I never knew that my sleep was suffering that much.
If you guys are drinking that stuff, I urge you to stop or at least slow down
and if you guys heed my advice let me know how thats working out for you

I never went to diet because I had heard about the effects on those sugar free sweeteners on the lining of the stomach, colon and esophagus.

I just cut the shit out, and have been losing weight. I get my sugar from fruit, with fiber, as it is supposed to be. Better skin, less fat, and I have more energy. The shit is like soma.

Just switching to black coffee has led to much less intense hunger pangs while cutting and something about soda allows me to eat more without feeling deathly full. It's odd and I really doubt it's the placebo effect.

If I over do coke zero I start feeling off too.
 
I like caffeine. I'm also super sensitive to it so to the point where one can of Coke at noon will keep me up at night.

I agree that it does wreck your sleep patterns. It screws with your central nervous system so that your body doesn't recover properly while you sleep. If you train it really becomes a hindrance. I never understood how people could sustain taking pre-workout and going to the gym. I never tried pre-workout but I heard it's basically speed.

Drug free is the way to be.

I believe the correct term is 'adrenal fatigue'. Caffeine will keep stimulating your nervous system until your body burns out. Then you feel irritable, on edge, and like you could sleep for a whole day. A pretty shitty feeling.
 
yeah I've been thinking about it man. I went to work for 8 hours two days and didnt drink any. felt horrible tbh. I'm back on it now but when things get less hectic I'm going to try to get clean again.

I had a headache for 2 days, but felt fucking good afterwards, get that shit out of your system, you will be happy that you did
 
Caffeine is the shit.

I like to pour a 5 hour energy in a sparkling water bottle and drinking it over 15-20 minutes. I feel like I get more energized and it's a better energy. It also doesn't upset my stomach as just taking a 5 hour energy would.
 
I dont usually try to sway people to do anything, but you guys do, and for good reasons, when my days are hard or am confused about something, you guys make me laugh and help me understand things

Quitting my Mountain Dew habit, and drinking bottled water and coffee have made losing weight so much easier.

Add Intermittent Fasting into the mix, made the pounds shed right off even faster.

I used to think it would be impossible to get below 220 pounds (I'm 6'0), and now I'm 205, and am trying to get down to 190... without any exercise. I'm going to start training to run a marathon around that weight.
 
I am a pretty healthy eater, BUT I do drink a lot of diet coke. Not for weight loss or anything, but I like the taste. I find normal coke too acidy. Anyhow, I have pondered quitting because my wife is always finding random studies that show aspartame does all this bad shit.

It will, all that shit in your system fucks with whats in your stomache, it slows down your metabolisms, im not an expert or anything, but I heard that on Joe Rogans podcast and its true, my clothes fit better and my face is getting more defined
I think I lost about 10 pounds in a month, by cutting that out, im trying to lose weight mind you, but its so much easier now

First off, good job dude.

Just a heads up from someone who lost a ton of weight without any working out except walking. You're going to lose a lot more muscle than you would if you did your anaerobic training during the process. It's not a good look.

Man good for you. That shit is poison I know people that have quit cigarettes after smoking for 30 years yet can't kick the soda/carbonated drinks.
