he was dominant in his era and then the game caught up to him and passed him by. I haven’t seen people saying otherwise.


He started his career 41-4. There is no denying he was tremendously successful for his time. But I think it is pretty obvious that he wasn’t a fully evolved mixed martial artist, his striking was even a long standing joke on here “K1 Hughes.” He thrived in an era of specialists and part timers, once guys could do everything, specifically stuff takedowns, he fell off.

But yeah he would still wreck alot of guys in the top 10 that arent good at grappling.

Nah, the point is that he could only shoot takedowns from one stance, which made him predictable to any fighter with a brain (which most of his opponents didn't have)

Pretty much every wrestler in MMA nowadays knows how to shoot within the confines of their fighting stance.
