Media I present to you: One of the greatest knockouts of this decade (Rizin 43)

That spine crank from that body triangle in the very first fight was wicked AF. I've never seen that.
They kept calling it a twister, so I've been calling it one, but panem and I were discussing how it looked weird, not a standard twister. I presume bc Goto is a striker that he doesn't know the exact technique, but whatever works lol. Probably never see that sub again.

Definitely no twister. We called the twister a grapevine in wrestling back in the day, same exact thing (I pinned a few guys with it). He didn't have the leg hooked nor did he have the guys opposite arm behind his head. Lol, it still looked painful af, was an awesome sub, very unusual.

We would be happy to have you in the chats if you end up watching them live. @panem-et-circenses and I were discussing how it's a shame like 5 people showed up while this card was getting more and more ridiculous with finishes with each passing fight. Was the kind of card that, had it been a UFC card, everyone would have been talking about it. And it's a shame, bc this is basically standard stuff for them, they are some of the best matchmakers on the world stage.

I hope we see you on July 30th!

Yeah I definitely need to make an effort to watch more worldwide MMA, I get the notifications on here so I've got no excuse. I always hear about how good the fights are. Will make sure I remember to watch that Rizin card.

That was what panem noted, that the leg wasn't hooked. He seemed really high on his back to me too, but I'm also not exactly the most knowledgeable guy around when it comes to technique. Goes to show, that where subs are concerned, why not just try it out and see what happens lol? Even if it isn't something for which we have a real name, maybe it still hurts?

Funny thing is in wrestling, they couldn't tap. I remember at a tournament in Basil Louisiana, I got this Asian kid in it and he was literally screaming before his shoulder blades touched. Lol

That was kinda my go to when the guys was inexperience. You have to hook the leg and take their arm from the opposite side and put it behind your own head, then you grab their neck and squeeze while arching your back.
A guy with experience won't let you just put their arm behind your head like that.

Panem noted that the guy who got caught in that sub appeared to know a thing or two on the ground, didn't seem like a novice. Maybe since that sub didn't exist before that fight he got caught by something he had no fear of being caught in bc he had no idea it was coming? Might have been out of it, too, though, he'd been eating some good shots prior to the sub. Goto looks like a guy to watch, not everyday a kid lauded for his striking "invents" a submission.

He looked really good everywhere, handsome kid too. But yeah, I can almost guarantee he didn't know it was coming. Hell, I didn't know it was coming, I've never seen that shit before. Lol, That's what's cool about MMA though, it's still evolving to this day.
