The fact that the ref said he wasnt out and didnt understand the outrage either means he is autistic (and in the worst way possible) or he wanted to hurt the guy on purpose. Either way he shouldnt be employed due to his attitude.

When refs make a mistake like that, they should lose their job immediately. No room for mistakes when people's lives are on the line.

They are allowed mistakes like everyone else, but not mistakes that are that egregious. That was beyond the pale.

its not a sport. its entertainment. remember that. entertainment at the cost of the physical health of young athletes. don't try and pretend its something its not. the refs the judges the bookies, to the people managing the fighters and the events. things happen this is not a clean respectable sport. its an entertainment business. there are other factors at play too when they really want one guy to win over the other or they want one guy to take a little more punishment before its stopped.
it would be less garbage if they at least retired wealthy but instead the ufc is basically the pool that builds talent to fight jake paul once they have left their prime and are near or above 40 and then those fights sell to millions of young fans because thats what they really want to see. not legitimate sport just entertainment .

Also, supposedly, a commission official yelled at the coach to pipe down.

That’s crazy. Commission should definitely pay for workers comp in situations like these. It is solely through negligence of the referee that his arm was injured and he can’t fight for longer.
