What about judges?......I don't particularly keep tabs on who is judging the fight OR how many different judges keep rotating through?....Anyone know how many judges rotate?

My reason for wondering this IS, the fighters have a good understanding about each referee and what they are passive about and, what they will not allow....Now when it comes to judges and how they judge, I am confused as sh*t with some of them. I don't understand how two proffesional judges can have it 30-27 for 1 guy and, the other judge has it 30-27 for the other guy.

Either they need to come up with a system of scoring that could actually be reviewed for accuracy OR, at the end of each fight, the judges must go on record of the how and why they scored the bout the way they did.....In a world where each loss can be devastating to ones career and earning potential, I believe it is an area that needs a lot more clarity.

I have the impression that judges are local. there's probably not too much rotation. scorecards make me feel some of these guys don't even know mma.

Years ago it seemed like every card, no matter the geography, was judged by some guy named Cecil Peoples. Anyone recall the same? If the local aspect is true, this Cecil guy must have been homeless.

If it was possible to judge something without subjectivity then you would not need judges

Think he's still there. Sal D'Amato is the disaster now though. You could almost see him scoring Cain/JDS 2 for JDS

haha yes the legend that is Cecil Peoples. probably the worst judge in MMA history, used to constantly give bizarre scores. I personally was at 2 UFC events where he was judging and I heard sections boo him. I remember some fights where 2 of the judges gave it 30-27 to a fighter, and Cecil gave it 29-28 to the other fighter.. which was like a WTF moment :confused:
