I kinda understand why no organization wants andy

Anderson and his management made horrible decisions that have brought them to this impass unfortunately

I think it has to do with money and his recent track record. With a guy like fedor, you still have someone who is knocking guys out despite his losses. Anderson would likely expect a larger salary than most of the roster for a smaller organization, and they can’t justify it. On top of that, they might be worried about him being injured under their umbrella, as others have mentioned.

I say this as a huge anderson fan. I hope he hangs it up.

Bellator is ALL CAP, they have been giving Roy Nelson fights but not Andy? Lol
I swear Dana is behind this. When you have a TRASH ORG like BKFC making a PUBLIC STATEMENT shitting on Silva.....with the SHAMEFUL ROSTER they have, how can it not be??? Why did 3 orgs come out and shit on him PUBLICLY??? I'm not even a big fan, but I feel like he got blackballed for some reason. PLENTY of other over the hills cashing in so let that man eat. I would think hes asking for too much, but it seems they said no before negotiations eve began.

Refusal to adapt fight plan to changing skill level, high price tag and he's chinny now, seemingly.

I'm curious to what you mean.
They took fights he shouldnt have (vs DC last minute), and everything post second knee injury was just unnecessary. He should've retired long ago. He tarnished the optics on his legacy in some fans' eyes.

He's a 46yo, known juicer, who hasn't won a fight since 2017, and he's 2-7-1 in his last 10 fights (should be 2-8, but they tested Diaz positive to... weed, while Anderson was juiced to the gills. No contest my ass)

Time has come to retire before he gets hurt badly

PS: I still don't understand why DC and Adesanya went so easy... both should/could have finished him

Think like a prometer for a moment, anderson will not be a cheap guy to have in your roster, he's also very old so even if he fights in your organization it won't be for a long time

- if he runs trough the mw division of your promotion it will only show how trash it is compared to the ufc

- if he doesn't he's an old man fighting against young lions which would be seen as just plain cruel ( remember golden boy with chuck vs tito 3? Yeah that wasn't a good look at all for them )

Its a lose or lose situation for every major promotion out there, andy is just not viable for any of them
2.7: Million viewers (peak) for Slice’s last Bellator fight vs. Dada 5000 — a company record. His previous fight for the promotion vs. Shamrock topped out at 2.3 million viewers, which was also a company record at the time.

More people will pay to see a car crash than they would a normal fight. NASCAR ratings tanked when they made it safer. Someone, somewhere, will pay Silva.

There's a number of older fighters that would jump at the opportunity to fight him.

Bellator should sign him to a 2-3 fight deal. Set him up with Dave Menne, Nate Marquardt and maybe someone like David Loiseau or Patrick Cote. Those are fights that would sell anywhere.

People would still watch Fedor vs Anderson.
Why though? A washed up HW vs a washed up MW? I couldn't be bothered. People here complain about the shit fights the UFC puts on, but would actually watch that? You're an odd bunch.

Yes that's Dana's reasoning, but this thread is more for Bellator and OneFC playing hard to get because of Anderson's current pay. Anderson is still active so he wasn't retired and the promotions trying to bring him back like Tyson and RJJ.

It's hard to have hype for his signing given his recent performances, they are all losses. That affects his value a lot. If he was winning like Arlovski, Overeem, they would be able to generate hype for him. Right now, he's in a tough spot because he just got KO in his last fight and he's 1-7-1 in his last 9 fights. Plus Dana publicly making negative statements about his performance and he shouldn't be fighting anymore. That can carry over as bad press for them wanting to sign someone with that kind of press at the current moment. They will wait it out and let the price drop, and the bad press be forgotten a bit.

There can still be matchups made for Anderson, just not up and coming killers. With some wins they can generate some hype for him again in the future.

Looks like I was correct.

This quote is from One FC's Chatri Sityodtong (CEO)
"I am a huge Anderson Silva fan. Without a doubt, he is one of the best ever to do it. That being said, ATHLETE SAFETY IS OUR NUMBER ONE PRIORITY at One FC. As such, we will not be bidding for his services".

I told you!!!

It would be exhibition fights only, not a legit run at the MW title.

And theyd make money, more than they pay andy.

Having said that i want him to retire and not put his health on the line anymore.

Wrong, fighter safety is not your number one concern when you are in the fight business. They literally pay people to KO each other. People watch to see KO. It's the hurt business bub. Have you seen some of the match ups in OneFC? Some solid mismatches in favor of a fighter they want to win. So it's not about fighter's safety, it's about money and profit.

They are not going to publicly say we want Anderson Silva but for a lower price. It's chess not checkers. Not every public statement is to be taken as absolute truth, that's not how business works. It's PR and public negotiation tactics. Just like Dana publicly dissed Anderson so whoever tries to sign him will get bad press over Dana's statements. Dana knows the game and did it for that reason.

OneFC lost a lot of money this year like a lot of promotions by not having live gates. Every promotion is in a negative this year. Anderson's current pay is too high of a price considering his recent performances, that's why they don't want to currently bid. Price is too high for the current value. They are just being smart about it. It's a simple business strategy.

there is very little upside to sign him

he isnt a big draw anymore
he is old
risk of him getting hurt
he hasnt won or had any exciting kos in a LONG time
he requires a LARGE payment

really nothing in it for anyone.

Honestly, his best bet is to try and box Mike Tyson or RJJ, hell, or even Jake Paul.

They might pay him to box on the next card.
