Dude, he’s basically right except for the prospects part.
Dude, he’s basically right except for the prospects part.
What I assume was FOTN they said both fighters had been “sliding into each other’s DMs”.
Now that’s good writing!
Makes a grandpa like me be all like:
So you need their help and permission to have interest in who is fighting? You couldnt do that yourself?Nah, they just need to promote their fighters better. WME is saving money instead of trying to generate hype that's the problem. The biggest fighters in the sport are getting fucked money-wise and will leave at the first opportunity to get embarrassed by a boxer in order to get paid.
Card quality is down.
It's about the brand now and not the fighters or fans. They get paid the same.
It's like if you are a construction company and all your set price contracts now go to hourly contracts. Start bringing in the $15/hour cheap labor.
I just said you missed a FOTN is all.I don't know why you guys keep going on about me saying there aren't any interesting storylines. If you promote your fighters, the stories will write themselves. I'm not talking about some wwe shit

Do you need your hand held? What does the money situation have to do with your interest in watching a full card?
Tbh I’m rarely hyped for most cards. But it’s not like I have better things to do. Where I live Covid is still causing havoc on a daily basis. Vaccine passports etc to go anywhere if the laws are enforced. And they certainly are for mass gatherings. I enjoy the sport, so I watch the whole card for every card. It’s not a big deal anyway. But I’m not pretending as if this is pre-2020 and life was different before that. I would gladly skip a UFC card to go see a live home football game of my fav team. The CFL literally cancelled that whole 2020 season, and only had an abbreviated season in 2021.I had the time but there aren't more than 1 or 2 fights per ppv that are actually worth watching these days so I'll just watch the replays of those few fights the day after. Still keeping track of the results though. It's just not getting me hyped anymore. I wish they would treat their fighters better too that shit needs to stop. We'd already have seen Ngannou vs Jones if they did treat them with the minimum respect
Interesting storylines? guess they need to hire better writers.
After the what I can only assume was FOTN (but didn’t bother to Google it) they said both fighters had been “sliding into each other’s DMs”.
Now is that what the kids mean by writing?

There have been some great undercard matches towards the end of last year. Its on you,if you cant see that. Plus did you think that Khamzat,Shavkat, and any other guys just sprouted from trees and immediatley fought on the main cards? It's not rocket science. Promote your fighters = Generate more money => Pay fighters more => Big fights get made > caliber of average fighter on card rises
Yes Pro Wrestling and MMA are promoted very much the same. The difference is I DO NOT NEED THAT to be interested in a fight. I dont need my hand held,I dont need to be babied. I would watch Ngannou vs Gane without all that shit. You wont hear me complaining about "lack of storylines" and ill sure shake my head at the CASUALS who do.Come on now. You guys really going to act like UFC doesn’t do this shit? This IS modern pro wrestling. Simple as. Coming up soon, we’re going see Colby-Masvidal—they were bestest pals but now they’re not and now they hate each other and ooooh they’re gonna fight….
Sorta like the training partner angle we saw with Ngannou-Gane, very much the same story as Tito-Chuck, Rashad-Jones, Antoni Hardonk-Pat Barry…. UFC has run this bullshit storyline on us over and over for years.
I agree but im also a junkie drug user on testo who has burnt all his joy n happy receptors to dust. There aren't any interesting story-lines anymore. No exciting up and coming prospects (the few there are, are getting unranked opponents one after another. Dana prefers to lowball the big names so the fights everybody wants to see don't get made or take years to get made when both parties are past their prime. Constant rematches for the belt. It's getting more and more boring. Wake me up when the sport gets exciting again

It’s not that it’s needed to enjoy a fight, it certainly isn’t. It’s the fact that the UFC thinks it is, but does nothing but recycle the same old tired bullshit when they promote. It hurts the product.Yes Pro Wrestling and MMA are promoted very much the same. The difference is I DO NOT NEED THAT to be interested in a fight. I dont need my hand held,I dont need to be babied. I'd rather have seen Ngannou vs Jones but the UFC doesn't want to pay their biggest names lmao.Yes Pro Wrestling and MMA are promoted very much the same. No it was for the TS saying he needs storylines to watch a full card. It’s not that it’s needed to enjoy a fight, it certainly isn’t. It’s the fact that the UFC thinks it is, but does nothing but recycle the same old tired bullshit when they promote. It hurts the product.
You putting “casuals” in all caps to refer to me somehow?
